On the new(er) White 1963 Cadillac Hearse, the front end is from a 1964. The grill is shaped like a "v" and and 1963 in just a straight grill. But the back end is from a 1963.

Input?

Matt, I'd have to say the grill looks like a '63 to me. It's supposed to V out horizontally
In '64 the grill the grill would V outwards TWO ways. Horizontally AND vertically.
Also the '64s had a body colored center grill bar that was wider than the '63s.
The hearse also appears to have the correct round directional lights directly under the headlights which in '64 were different.

Ready for some more usless information no one probly cares about??? Huh?
Well the Matchbox hearse isn't really just a hearse, believe it or not!
See how there's like a window line around landau bar area where a rear side window
would go? That's cuz there IS a window behind that panel on the 1/1. This model is
called a "Combination". If the customer of the deceaced wanted the casket in view than
the panel could be removed to have the look of what is called a "Limosine style" coach.
Also some Combination style coaches doubled as ambulances.

I dunno. The thought of being hauled to the ER in a hearse CAN'T be a good sign!!:o

Ready for more? This particular car was modeled from an actual 63 that is owned by the head of design at Matchox! He and I actually talked about this car a few times when it was being developed so that all the goofs on previous diecast hearses wouldn't be repeated, such as Hot Wheels' windshield or JL's Landau bars...

By the way, you are 100% correct about it having removable Landau panels in 1:1 form

Interesting, thanks for posting!
Do you know the coachbuilder of the car? I think it's a Superior or possibly a Miller~Meteor.
And do yuo know if the business end of the interior has a jump-seat and fixtures for a stretcher?
Possibly a removable floor containing the casket rollers?

Although much like the new gold '69 Cadillac, the hearse is somewhat truncated.
Still worthy enough for the collection.

"In a ambulance you gotta chance, in a hearse its gotta be worse" one of my favorite movie quotes.
