the u haul trucks came with black plastic wheels .
so i put a larger set on one . it must be a 5 ton truck l.o.l.
and small white wheels on the other truck , it must be a 3 ton truck l.o.l.

i liked the little maisto truck but not the wheels .
so that one got large wheels and now its a 3/4 ton truck .
depends on your imagination l.o.l.

the air ratchet broke using a old 4 way wheel wrench .

now it looks better , but have to do something with those silver headlights l.o.l.

hi gunn.
they might be hard to find they were made or distributed not sure which . by a company called international hobby corporation back in the 90s
i bought one in alabama , one in michigan, and one at a flea market in toronto they cost about 16.00 dollars each at that time . they are 1/87 scale . about 4 inches long and a inch wide and a inch and a half high . the back door opens .
if you are really careful not to break it they are plastic .

this is a rear view

http://i259.photobucket.com/albums/hh303/mijyma/ht/tb1-1.jpg

this shows it fits about right with the motormax gas pumps . the motorcycle is 1/87 scale

http://i259.photobucket.com/albums/hh303/mijyma/ht/gs15.jpg

i always use 1/87 scale people because i can get them to fit in most 1/64 scale cars

this truck is a lot larger than the johnny lightning international coke truck and looks more realistic beside a car like the motormax pinto which is 1.60 scale i think
scale to me is whatever looks right .and i have yet to find a 1/64 scale person that will fit in a 1/64scale car
so much for correct scale l.o.l.

Those 1/87 people look exactly to scale with the 1/64 cars.

thanks .
in fact a lot of cars you have to cut the steering wheel out. put the little people in. then glue the steering wheel back on .
or cut the legs off them . dont like that idea .
the little motrmax car was easy a little screw in the base , the steering wheel come right out with a little pull . put the people in then bend the steering wheel up and slide it back in add a drop of glue and the little car looks better with someone in it l.o.l.

Nice work Pearl. I really like the U-Hauls.

thanks zeb
i liked the u hauls because the backdoor opened. just makes a picture more interesting when you can add junk in the back . it is the kid in me that would buy a dump truck so i can add sand to it,, a tow truck with a car on the back l.o.l.
besides the u hauls little murals on the side were done very nice .

notice you are a cajun fan i am also been to new orleans a few times like blues also .

the car is a johnny lighntning here are a couple of pictures . you can see they are almost the same casting
same type of base . i ground down one a little to try get rid of the large chunk of metal it was dragging on the ground after i put the smaller wheels on it .
you may also notice i dont drill out the rivits . i cut the old axle out with a rail cutter it is meant for cutting
model railroad track a standard side cutter is to large to get in behind the tire and cut the axle.

for axles my husband made me a bunch from very hard steel they have a very very tiny thread on the end . i just push a wheel on and turn it a couple of times and it stays on . it cuts its own thread into the rim .my husband has all kinds of tiny little tools that he used to build brass engines . and he is not into trains anymore so i kept all the neat junk he was tossing out l.o.l.
