Ok guys.Ive finally got some free time as my musical endeavors are on hold for a short time.So I plan on FINALLY putting the finishing touches on my track.Borders are ready to go,joints are soldered, track has been painted and smoothed out, etc. One thing I am definetly making is a cover for the track when its not being used.Cleaning a 4 x16 track is a major pain in the a$$.And if I dont use it for a week or so,I have to clean it all over again from scratch.

And the lap timer issue.......Picked up a db 9 connector for the serial port on my old desk top I run LT 2000 on.

I am convinced that I will never get the software to work flawlessly with a USB connection to the computer.I never realized how they can sometimes become quirky.I run a lot of USB interfaces in my home recording studio,to connect microphones and guitars to interfaces via USB.I noticed weird drop outs and so on at times. And the computer I use is loaded with memory and has a pretty high horsepower CPU.So its issues with the USB itself.

At any rate,I know a lot of this has been asked a billion times before, but if anyone knows of any issues or tips when using a serial port with LT2000,please,educate me.I'll be using the IR sensors, with over head LEDS.
I busted all the damn reed switches I bought when I was trying to get the joystick thing to work.SO its back to those.

I dont post a lot here, and slot cars is something I tend to drift in and out of,I take little breaks here and there. But,I do religiously read this board every day,and really enjoy reading the posts here and seeing some of your tracks, modeling tips, and trials and tribulations of track building and so forth.

Hands down, this is THE best forum for us HO guys to exchange thoughts and ideas and do pretty much only that.Nowhere else comes close.
