 I am wondering if a EDM with a 27turn moter and lipo will keep up with a brushless and lipo.

Only if its a 17.5. A stock motor will not run w/ a 13.5.

With a really good built motor it could even beat a 13.5 in a 5 min heat race. The longer you run a brushed motor it has a chance of hanging up a brush. A brushless 13.5 is an excellent combo for stock classes with a lipo.

You didn't understand what I was saying. A 13.5 is more like a 19 turn. In the same car, with the same driver, a 13.5 will run more laps than a stock 27 turn brushed motor every time. Trust me. My dirt oval series (WDRA) spent all of last season trying to integrate 13.5s with stock motors. Even adding 3/4 of a pound to the brushless cars was not enough to let the stock motors keep up!

The 17.5 motor is a good brushless to run with stock 27t. The 13.5 is way too fast.

OK, last week end we almost got the track done. durring the night we went onto the oval two buggies were running and 3 trucks, and 1 truggy (buggy with truck tires. I had a 27 turn with a 6000 lipo and zerb had a 13.5 with a 6000 lipo. I could keep up with him. I was geared 4 teath two low. Idk how low Zerb was. :woohoo:

Hear are some pics from working on the track.

I was out at OakHill yesterday to check out the track. The oval track looks very smooth. I can't wait to get on it and do some dirt oval racing. This is going to be a blast. This track offers multiple groves and should be very interesting with very close racing. Great Job goes out the Zerb and Chris and the rest at Oak Hill.
