Fiance says the Tomy Super Int'l has arrived at the house while I am at work, so I guess I can officially post here :)

Just wanted to say I'm a 34 year old geek who's breaking into the "reliving my past" stage with my 8 yo. Had an old AFX when I was 11 or so, and been wanting a slot car set the past few years.

Talked to the owner of www.hoslotcarracing.com and he talked me out of the Life-Like set I was looking at and into the Tomy (and also here as well). From reading here, I see he was on point.

Anyway, if anyone races in Atlanta, I'd love to see some tracks or bring a car over to race.

The Tomy track is the best of the plastic tracks produced today,no doubt.
You can build awesome 4 and 6 lane tracks with it.After market 18 inch radius
corners are available also.HO racing gives the best bang for the buck of any
hobby going.

Slots kind of bring in the best of a lot of worlds - you can go for 1:1 type detail like diescast, modeling skill with any number of kits or bodies, tinkering, modifying and getting em to go quick, just finding and restoring for nostalgia and that whole collecting thing, even scale diorama type scenery.... And clever people here who can do all of it. Not a bad place to spend some time, huh?
