New SK conversion kit now in production, See attached pic's

Info from instruction booklet:

The Warrior has built-in centerline indicators in the chassis. You will see three small notches; the first in the front of the chassis plate, the second at the rear of the chassis plate, and a third at the rear of the lower pod plate. This helps you determine your wheel offsets properly. Placing a straight edge along these holes also determines if you have rear steer. Another way to determine rear steer amount is by measures the gap between the chassis plate and the rear pod plate with a caliper.

What separates the Warrior from other SK’s is the monoball rear suspension. This is not another t-plate car.

With a t-plate car, it can be difficult to adjust rear steer, sometimes with only a few “pre-set” increments of adjustment available. The Warrior’s adjustable rear steer bar provides infinite adjustments. Raising the front of the rear steer bar with shims can provide roll steer if desired.

With most t-plate cars, you adjust wedge by the two tweak screws that touch the chassis plate at the front pivot ball. The Warrior’s wedge adjustment is easily made by screwing the side spring rod in and out of the 4-40 rod end (counter-clockwise reduces LR weight, clockwise increases LR weight). An easy way to remember which way to go is to tighten the rod to tighten the chassis, loosen the rod to loosen the chassis. Pretty simple, huh? You can make this adjustment in seconds with the body on the car. A quarter turn will make a noticeable difference. Hint: use an old pinion gear instead of the outer 1/8” collar to act as a thumbscrew for easy adjustments, and run a 4-40 tap in the plastic rod ends to make the adjustment rod easier to turn.

Conversion kit (no front end, rear bulkheads, rear axle assy) $135.00 + shipping

The prototype version of this car was reviewed by S.K.O.R. It was approved based on completeting several revisions. Every one of those revisons was made. The only deviation I made was the new battery braces. I have not sent the car to S.K.O.R. after the revisions. That being said, I don't think many tracks run structly under S.K.O.R. rules. Some tracks base their rules off of S.K.O.R., but it's the tracks' ultimate decision as to what is legal.

This car is legal to run at all N.E.O.T. events.
This car is legal at RC Madness, Enfield CT.
I will be contacting Turn 4 RC about the car.
I have not talked to any other tracks yet.

Where do you intend to run SK?

Neot ran at Marshall. DRC Warrior Qual. 4th, in the A main. Ended up 2nd.
Maybe could have won. The only car in the A with a brushed motor.

Congratulations to Mike Valentine on his A-Main win at Iron Maximus IV this weekend with the DRC Warrior !!! (Mike borrowed my car the day before the race) I know you had to wrench on it a bunch, but it got the job done!

I didn't talk to Romo yet, but I know he qualified well with his Warrior, but ended up 6th in the A-main with a DNF.

I was watching the SK A-Main at Maximus Sunday, It looked like a T-Plate in the back of that DRC car to me. Was there a design change or a different version released?

Inquiring Minds

Dirtydrc

Mike was chasing the set-up during the day. He tried the t-plate just to be sure that any handling problems he was having were not related to the monoball suspension. He said the car ran the same with the t-plate. Looks like the car that Mike borrowed from me had issues with the front suspension, but not sure. None of the other DRC cars have ever had the issues that Mike was having. My car has been a bit off since I built it. Gotta blame it on the set-up - me (oops).

No design change. I have no interest in a t-plate car. That's been done before, don't need another t-plate car.

Hopefully I have eased the inquiring minds.

Dale I won't be able to stop bye tonight, going fishing with the family.

I installed the T-plate as mentioned above, to trouble shoot an issue I was having. The handeling issue was still aparent, even after changing to a T-plate. Not 100% sure what the front end issue is but I know were I would start, just a new front end. That one had some miles on it, almost looked like Romo used it for a season or two, LOL.

That right. I hit everything, including a pace car, tow truck, and ambulance.
Thats OK, thats just how I roll.
For only two DRC Warrior's to show up, and Qual 3 and 4 in the A, and Win it, we did OK. I just wish my evil twin would not have shown up just before the Main and screw up the wiring in the car, but he always shows when it counts. One of these days I'm going to buy him concrete boots and show him Put Lake.:dude:

There were 2 DRC Dirt oval Bodys at the WDRA event at Big Mikes. Kenny had some of the fastest lap times early in the day,but had some racing luck during the day. I got the New DRC D.O.Body and Qual. 4th. Over all a real good weekend. Thanks DRC.

Hey, did that body fit over the chassis OK? My car is kinda wide where the rear link mounts in front of the RR....

omnis85
06-17-2008, 11:34 AM
yea I am interested to know as well, the mantis body is much wider than the phantom body, probably just as wide if not a tad wider than the Bolink body.

Dirtydrc
06-17-2008, 12:00 PM
Oh, OK. If your body is at least as wide as the Bolink, then it will fit over my chassis easily.

Out of 50+ racers at Master Hobbies (WDRA event) there was only 1 DRC Wind Cheater EDM Body there. Qual 4th Finished 3rd. Real happy with the Body. It complements the Putnum Pro Chassis real well.
DirtOval Dale keep up the good work.
