Shonuff
03-04-2002, 07:27 PM
we should start this coming up sunday and do every other week. This puts us opposite of debs, so some of the gas guys can come run electric too

i talked to rusty earlier. Everyone needs to call him and ask to race this weekend. We also need to call everybody that races there to let them know about racing this sunday(10th)

That was a blast!

I'd really missed that track. That jump adds alot of fun.

Looks like Jady can still drive. He almost ran 17 laps while feeling like crap!! That sucks. ;) We shall double our efforts. Cool to see some new blood in stock truck. Wayne and Charlie were both quite fast for their first race at a new track. I hope they had a good time. I hope they had a good enough time to drag some more racers over to our little track. I think our new schedule planned will enhance turnout as well. By moving to Saturday mornings the schedule won't interfere with any racing at Debs in Va Beach or Tidewater RC in Hampton. That way gas guys and carpet guys can come get some as well. Let me clarify though: Only electric off-road at Stream.

If anybody would like to pitch in.... The dirt outside the track needs to be moved off the grass, and preferably into the holes and ruts that have developed. If you go to practice, try to bring a shovel if you're able. Every shovel full helps. I plan on going at least twice to do a little maintenance before the next race on the 23rd. If anyone wants to try and get together for that, by all means post here. It would also be nice to rake the whole surface, reface the jumps, and finally roll it out nice and smooth. Anyone have time next weekend? When we did this last year, the track held together well for quite some time.

Jady should clarify: Narrowed brush MVP. Thats the key point. It's like a P2k without the devil. LOL.

Get Dirty

Throw that dirt Shonuff! And when you're done reface the jumps, rake, roll out and water the whole track. Then call me when you're done, so I can practice. Just kidding.

some dirt down where it wore over the weekend.

I have completly changed the track in bodidos line, every
place else is the same though

Pushingood

It would be hard to mess up my line being it is from rail to rail. I think i could do just as good in the grass feild for part of my line. oh yea that reminds me i need to glue my front tires on????ha

i think josh knight and dave williams will be racing with us on the 23rd.

a guy from Houston TX call the shop and said, he will be in the area on the 23rd. He will be racing with us, also he deals with dirt track so he give me a couple tips. Next time we re-do the track mix in so peak moss, it will hold moisture in, also get tire shaven from a tire place and spread that in

Bodido
03-18-2002, 06:04 PM
Tire shavings, huh?

Interesting.

Saturday is getting close.... Can't wait. All this rain is sure to be helping the track some. Hopefully it will hold together a little better than last time. I think that was the worst it has ever rutted up.

I did like the quick water between rounds. It didn't seem like it slowed us down as far as getting all the heats run quickly. Plus the traction was consistent for me all day. And it was never wet enough to cake the tires. Very cool.

I'd like to try raking out the track and rolling it some day this week. Hopefully I can get out of work early enough to make it there 4ish one of these (non-rainy) days. We'll see.

We might have to do stock and mod truck this week. We're gonna have a better turnout for trucks this week almost guarunteed. I know Josh and Dave are itching for a grudge match, and some guys just might not want to be in the middle of that, especially if they happened to see them go at it with tc's a little while ago. BRUTALITY! We'll see how it looks race day. I'd hate to see three mod trucks and three stock trucks for mains. That would be, in a word..... Silly.

That said.... You're all going down.

Hey guys My Name is Les,I was looking around and saw this posting.I am actually from Dallas but thanks for the props none the less. The Peat Moss will help lock in moisture and makes the track last a lil longer and not dry out in area's.The tires shavings work good for tracks that are ran dry.If you guys like loose dirt fun I wouldnt advise this.I will be flying in Friday and will be leaving Sunday after some good ole fun racing with some new friends. It will be a pleasure meeting you guys and hope to have some fun.Can you guys give me some advice on Gearing and tires for stock?Any help would be appreciated.Till the weekend.

Bodido

Hey Les,

Always happy to see new faces at the track. We're a small friendly crowd, but fairly competitive. Especially stock truck.

Those are a couple track additives I hadn't heard recommended. Might be worth a shot. Mainly we're looking to keep the dust down, so we don't turn our neighbors against us, but a consistent surface is nice too. It's a fairly red clay track, with little sand if any.

As for setup.... I run AE, but the tranny ratios are fairly close. In truck I usually gear a p2k at 19/87, 19/84, or 20/87. P2k2's and mvp's 17/87 to 18/87. M3 Holeshots are the tire of choice. Square fuzzies can work. Bow ties can work. So can T2000's. Holeshots always seem best, though.

I think the stock truck can do just as many laps as mod.I ran 15 or 16 and JD did 17 i thought ?????????? mod is to much for me i can barely handle the stock on dry conditions. When i get my mod motor i will need my own professional turn marshall.

TexRacer
03-19-2002, 11:41 PM
Thanks Bodido.Sorry i didnt know your real name.I love racing with a nice laid back group of locals. One key thing about the Peat moss is it will help keep the sand from surfacing..Since it is a clay you all might stop buy a place that does Retreading on tires.Ask them to buy bags, drums or whatever of Tire shaving's which will be rubber.Really nice additive to a track giving you more grip being rubber to rubber.Check pricing due to being a different location.I see you guys run alot of truck. Is there a buggy class as well?I sent some of my racing stuff up there today..Man $39.55 to ship it..OUCH.lol..But I am sure it will be well worth it..Crossing fingers..PLEASE DONT RAIN..lol.What time do things get started? Can I get power somewhere and do I bring a table ?

Definately racing on Saturday. We always have a buggy class, but truck has just been more competitve lately, with 4 or 5 guys qualifying within a few seconds of one another. Two qualifiers starting at 11 I believe.

Les... You race touring cars? Or Oval? You could follow a couple of us when we finish at Stream. There is carpet racing Saturday nights in Hampton (bout 15 minutes from Stream). Starts around five. Ends around midnight. We run mainly stock, only on foams, though.

Guys I would love to but I am actually up there to see a girl friend of mine and she might get mad taking the WHOLE day away from her..lol.We will see though.I wont rule it out.Sad thing is in Texas as big as this damn state is and all the money and people we dont even have a INDOOR Onroad track and havent had a Carpet track in like 7 yrs.If you have money please move to Texas and Build this.lol.I will see if I can smooze her to let me run some carpet..Can I run rubber if thats all I have?If not what foams work there?
