Hey Stream Racers

If anyone is interested I have a fairly new (just broken-in)HPI RS4 3 RTR for sale. Its barely stock, here is the list of hop-ups:

2-speed
carbon fibre shock towers
carbon fibre top plate
T-Maxx header (for smooth air flow)
adjustable turnbuckles

It comes complete w/ radio, trinity reciever battery pack, two sets of crystals, and 2 tone painted Stratus body (looks pretty sweet). Oh yea, fuel bottle and rechargeable glow igniter is included. All it needs are some foam tires and your ready for the track!

E-mail me at philscearce@yahoo.com if you are interested.

I wish I could join you for the 1/12 scale but I don't have one at the moment. I will be bringing my tc3 for some bashing with the newbees. :p See ya in 3.

Melvin... i KNOW you didnt mean "bashing"... it was a figure of speech... right?! Have ya dropped that chassis on there yet? If you have the "new" NTC3 style gearcases i can send you some NTC3 shock towers i have adapted for the TC3. They have four camber locations... the middle one works well on medium bite asphalt. They closed that track down that i showed you when you were here. So there is now nowhere offically to race TC here in Mobile.

Anyone want a fully decked out TC3 with about a billion spare parts?! Titanium driveshaft, aluminum layshafts, new heavy duty Yok one way... complete sets of light and standard steel diffs with ceramic nitride balls, all of the caster blocks... ASC and Losi, every swaybar possible with links, aluminum steering blocks and Losi style rear hubs...polished....Yok bladder caps, three complete sets of threaded shock bodies with unobtanium shafts and springs, three sets of standard composite body shocks, standard shafts... yes.. there is more. The parts box itself has over 250$ in new parts. God i have way too much time and $$$ invested in that damn thing for it to just sit there and look pretty....

You can not give up the most free spinning tc3 I have ever seen. Are you ok? Do you need some tylenol or something? You didn't slip and bump your head did you? I can not believe this. If you can't go to the track...then bring the track to you. What happen to that slogan? Come on man you can't do that. Trust me. Thats hard to get over. I sold my stuff one time and I still am not even close to all of the stuff I used to have. I will never and I quote never sell my stuff again. Takes too long to get all of that stuff in the first place. Look at all of the $$$$$$$ you have tied up in it. YOU HAVE INVESTED INTREST, TIME AND MONEY. I know what you're thinking...I can get another one in the future and be just as fast. True as that may seem you know the real result. Sit it on the shelf and let it collect dust untill Snowbirds :) But if you did sell it and got the new yokomo, I would fully understand  Isn't Winterchamps right after snowbirds? Call me or email me when Erin finds out about the rooms. Got to go to work...............>>>>>>>> :o Another late night.

There's nowhere to race TC in Mobile anymore?! Did Richard close down Hurricane Motorsports? That really blows. That was an awesome, HUGE permanent asphalt oval with a TC track in the infield. I used to race Sportsman Oval & Legends down there before I moved to Newport News last November.
I can't believe it, there used to be like 60 cars there every race night. What happened?

x Racer x
07-28-2003, 10:46 AM
EmptyCan: The racers dwindled... and Richard was lucky to have 20 a race night. We have had about 2 months of straight rainouts here... you know it always rains in Mobile. I guess with all that combined he decided to close the doors. I have yet to go out there and talk to him personally... working nights and sleeping days makes it hard to keep up with everyone. There will be no TC racing here unless you add some rally tires and some downtravel for a little driveway action...

Dave,
That's horrible man, he was doing so well last year when I moved. :(
There is still the very old and abused remnants of the off-road track Richard & another fellow used to run up on Schillinger road, east of Airport Blvd. Maybe someone could do something with that.
Hobbytown up on Schillinger also used to race touring & has an old off-road track behind it, to. You'll have to bug Rob, Seth & Ryan about racing again.
There's also some racing in Pensacola, if you're up for the trip. Hobby central is the name of the track/store.
Tell Richard that I'm sorry to hear about the track & hello for me, if you see him. Thanks,
Scott

Hey Scott, i will gladly tell him hi for ya! Hobbytown has a dirt track out back still... but it is usually a mud pit due to the weather. (read as "swamp") Seth and Rob got a crew of guys from Pensacola to come up ONCE A MONTH to Hobbytown called P.A.R.A. R/C club with a portable track, lapcounting and all for TC. Again... RAIN. Did i mention RAIN?! :( I got to run once... and we were packing up between the drops of rain. It was a great day though and i had alot of fun... it was the most i smiled and laughed in along time. Dude... i tell ya what... ill trade ya places... you come back here... and ill move back to VA?! I hear once you are here... you aint ever gettin out.... HEY.... HOW THE HECK DID YOU GET OUT OF ALABAMA?!

Dave,
That's the truth man, Mobile has a way of sucking you in. I grew up in FL & got stuck in AL for 4 years. Finally, I just got sick of it, packed up & left. It's not bad come Mardi Gras time on Dauphin Street, though. Weekend nights can be fun on Dauphin, too. I used to have a blast at Haley's.
Don't feel too bad. It has done nothing but rain here since I moved, too. The weather has just given us a bit of a break the last month or so. The winter really sucked. I'm not at all used to the cold & got to race year-round in FL & most of the year in AL.
And at least it sounds like Rob is trying to hook the racers up. The weather will break there soon & you'll be back in business! Hey, tell Seth hello too. Black Angus rules! Ask him about that...hee-hee.

...A good question. I'm still waiting to hear a little feedback on a Formula One class for on-road. There are many hop-ups for the F201, including a sweet double deck graphite chassis. They can be very competent tourers. Or, as I mentioned before, we could run them with stock chassis' & 19 turn mods as a spec class just for fun...

I'm here..... Racing some off-road this weekend will make me very happy. Can't wait. Hope to see a decent turnout.

Question for everyone.... Would many of you be more interested in stock off-road than mod. Personally, I prefer running mod. I would be more than willing to run stock, if that's what the majority wants to race. Does anyone feel that mod scares people away? Speak your mind folks.... Let's here it.

In a perfect world we'd have a couple of heats each of stock and mod.... truck and buggy. How can we get there?

EmptyCanRacing
09-04-2003, 10:07 AM
I, myself prefer mod, but would gladly race either. If both classes were available I'd race mod. However, i have no problem with stock. The reality of the situation is that lap times are almost the same either way, mods are just faster on the straights. I'll gladly race either.
If we're voting, I choose mod. I would really like to see both, but then we could get into the problem mentioned in the on-road forum of 3 car races in each class, unless turnout improves.
Personally, I think mod might scare some newbies away because of the cost involved & the fear that only great drivers run mod, so they wouldn't have a chance. I think the playing field at Stream is pretty much even (with the exception of Josh) as far a skill is concerned. Cost really shouldn't be an issue either, with the advent of cheap machine wound mods fron Orion & Peak. Some are cheaper than competition stock motors & alot of budget entry level esc's can handle 19 turns or less, so there's no need to upgrade there.
For those on a budget like me, I run a cheapie Novak esc & a $25 Peak 15 turn mod & do pretty well. You don't have to have the most expensive competition equipment to be competitive. As long as you have descent batteries & charger, you'll do fine.
There's my 2 cents...

Bodido

So is everybody done with off-road or what? There was no racing again today because of no turnout. What's the deal? Lots of new people call and ask about racing, but then come by and see that there is no turnout, so they go home. Where did everyone go?

EmptyCanRacing
09-06-2003, 03:05 PM
I would have been there today, but am still waiting to get my B4 set up. I'm gonna get my esc, motor & servo next week. I already have a sweet new radio, a Futaba Magnum Racer FM.
I just don't want to race my B3 anymore, you know? Besides, my wife had back surgery this week & my mother in law is in town.
I'll be there every chance I get once my B4 is ready, though. I hope other people will too. I have also noticed that no-one is on the message board lately, either. What's up with that?

:dude: I just (finally) got my B4 up & running & took it for a test drive. I have to say that this chassis is incredible. I love it. It's just in a whole different league than the B3. It's very qiuck & super responsive. It doesn't seem to have as much on-power push as the B3 does.
Now I have a hard on to break the bank at Stream & get a buch of trick aluminum hop-ups for it, even though it really doesn't seem to need them.
I installed a mod in it, is that still what the buggy guys are running? I can't wait to race it. Hopefully the track will dry out some this week, so I can get in some practice & dial it in a little. I'm gonna try like hell to get next Sat off so I can race it. I hope enough people show up to race.
Anybody have some setup tips for the B4 & the track at Stream?

Just spoke with Slaprock and it sounds as if everyone had a good time at Tiltyard? Lots of A main finishes. Off road racing this weekend and the weather is looking great. Let's try to get the biggest turnout ever. We will run off road as long as weather permits. Maye we should end the year with some kind of Trophy race. So who all went to the Tiltyard?

Bodido
09-30-2003, 06:18 PM
Jady, Josh, Keith , and me went. Jady did real well in mod truck. He qualified third and finished forth. Josh was TQ in truck, but continued his streak with what may be the unluckiest season EVER. I think he finished third in 4 wheel despite breaking on the last lap. Keith and I went ready to run 19 turn and open mod buggy, but only signed up for 19 turn because it looked like the turnout was too small to run two classes without some serious scrambling. Only after the heats were posted did we know that only two others signed up. Errrr. :( I wish they would have said something. We would have much rather run open mod with a full class. I had a poorly mounted servo (buggy wouldn't go straight). Still ran eleven laps, but man what a struggle. Had a good time, though. That track is just a blast.
