Dirt on SAT. I'll probably still be hobbling ( I had hernia surgery last Friday ); but if I can't race, I will come out and watch. :freak:

So, who is the new sponsered guy. Did Josh come to his senses and abandon the evil of Losi. :jest:

I first want to say... alot of work went into that track at Trainland. But i can think of two particular seasons where i had a key to the shed, and Josh and i were there at the butt-crack of dawn to do track maintenance Sunday morning. (sometimes Curtis was there too... he always brought the big tools though IE: Bobcat) Josh and i went around, and patched what dirt had been removed from jumps by the weeks rains. We then soaked the track... i mean hosed it. By 9 am the track was damp, but you could walk on it, no puddles. We then rolled the groove with one of them water rollers. As the day went on... the track was swept between qualifiers with wide soft bristle push brooms, and hosed again, no puddles. The rubber laid down from the runs stayed put, and the track hardened up. About every two weeks, we shoveled the broomed dirt that had collected against the black tubing, and used it to improve the jumps. Remember though, that was baseball clay... which is a sand/clay mix. I dont remember exactly what you guys have there at Stream. We never added anything to the dirt to hold it together... it was just really...really packed. Maybe Rusty can rent a gas powered tamper... a few good soakings and a tamper will give you rock hard dirt. Heck, at the Winterchamps in 98... there was so much rain and water on the track... they broomed it off after one of the hard rains... and brought a big gas tamper out... by the end of a few heats.. there was a groove again.... went from step pins to holeshots in no time. Hope this helps!

So, how did you guys do at sand hills. I went to Streams last Sat but no one showed and the track looked great. NO MUD. If I didn't just have surgery I would have brought my stuff and ran it around the track and got the feel for dirt again.

Can someone give a good starting setup for a Losi XXXT to run at Stream. Tires, Springs, Oil, Gearing, Etc. Any help would be greatly appreciated. We hung up our oval stuff and are going dirt racing. Please help. Thanks again.

The MF set-up is pretty dialed at stream. At least it was when I ran mine last time. 7 rib tires front and IMFR pins rear.

Mr. Keene...Did you ever sell your losi??Are you ready to eat my dust.See ya'll when the monsoon season is over.

I_hit_the_wall
03-21-2003, 09:01 AM
Still have the losi. Used the shocks from the Losi on my T-3 with green and black springs. Losi shocks seem to be smoother and work alot better. Noticed significant handling difference. AE need to go to bottom loaded shocks. You can get all the air out of AE shocks even with Yokomo caps. Rest of XXX-T in my garage. If The T-4 still has the top loaded shocks I'll use my losi shocks on it too.

My question is when is the next dirt race ??????

Don't feel too bad, forecast calls for rain Fri, Sat, & Sun. It wasn't supposed to start until Friday, but it's raining right now. My bet is that it'll rain all the way through the weekend.
It really sucks that I finally have a weekend off & of course, it's supposed to rain all weekend.
Where do you race your T-Maxx & when?

roger, cmon man

you drive a tmaxx, you dont race one  especially one with a donnie motor on it--that should be considered cheating

Weather report is looking up. A small (30%) chance of a light shower friday and no rain again until Saturday night. So no rain Saturday during the day with 70 percent chance it wont rain tomorrow and even if it does it will be light showers.

Time to play in the Dirt.

this sucks!!! no work this weekend. but i think im grounded....3 days of OSS is not good. ill see if i can talk my out of the groundage.

jady.if you drove that thing you would be hooked...theres nothing better than having to hit the break and make the front end drop 6 inches just so it will turn. oh yes...it rules...i saw the funniest thing last sunday. i was "driving against at 1/8th kyosho buggy converted to a monster truck. stock/modified motor in mine and it was dead even down the back straight...lol. a 21 against a stock tmaxx motor. DP IS THE MAN!

Who is DP? Sounds like I need one of his engines in my T-Maxx. I wonder if he could do anything with the M16 I just installed in it.
What does he do, polish & port them?
I'm not buying the weather report, I bet it'll rain all weekend. Even if it doesn't I think the track will be too wet to race on. I just moved here in Novemer & I gotta tell ya - the weather around here SUCKS! At least in the winter. It's nothing like the weather in AL & FL where I have previously lived.

his name is donnie padgett. he builds the best rc gas motors. if you see one of his engines run with a driver that will put there endpoints at 100%, it is increadible.

jady...you said it right..IF they will put the end points at 100 %...i had my novarossi 12 at 70% and i was still pullin the front wheels of the ground and ended up cartwheeling it. his motors anre insane! il let him no that your interested.

That name sound familiar. Is he local or have I read about him?
I was just up at Stream where they had been working on the track. It looks good. I just saw it from a distance but it looks like they added another big jump on top of the little straight in the middle where the whoops used to be.
Rusty says if the weather holds out they will be working on the track & testing the transponder system tomorrow, if not racing. I hope it's sunny (or at least not raining). If so, I'll see you all up there!

Bodido
03-28-2003, 10:40 PM
Yeah... There's now a triple in the infield. I refaced the big jump as well. Put down a bunch of round-up on the weeds. They'll need to be raked out in the morning. The surface is real good. Not dusty, Not muddy. Should be fun. We shall dust off the transponders. Plan on racing!!

Bring mods or nineteen turns!!! For giggles.

Donnie Power=

I hope to run one of his engines in truck this year as well. Don't wanna look silly at the Tiltyard.
