Matt makes a deal with the .

Haha. Actually they're supposedly real nice on carpet. I hear parts are kind of a pain to get, but you shouldn't need much as far as spares. I hear Associated's T-plates fit.

Have you ever been to the rctech.net message boards Matt? There is a popular 1/12 scale thread there that has a ton of switchblade setup info from this guy Dave Arnold. He makes allot of a-mains at the big races.

We had a good time last night at Hampton. Big TC class. We even had a full C main.

Shane layed the smack down in the A main. He pretty much just checked out. Killer run!

The qualifying times I put up last night would have normally gotten me in the back of the A. But everyone got real fast. Middle of the B was all I could manage.

hey looks like were runing at half time again at the scope in norfolk
this saturday. one of the DJS on fm 99 was talking about how the r/c cars were more entertaing than the mini cup race cars hey what can i say. we had about 14 people 10 drivers 4 pit be otchs 6or7 1/8 scale
buggys jumping a little bike ramp 18 inches high this week their building a 30 inch high ramp and making it wider those buggys were alot faster than the mini cup carsbut being single speed they tend to over heat after about 5-10 minutes of running if your not doing anything come to scope and check out the arena races, and the half time show Donnie brake out the 1/4 scale?this trackwould be perfect oval for r/c cars if we could race here I would start oval racn again, but for now were just the half time show 200' straights
guess the debbies gang laid the smack down again looks like it will never end nothings changed still the same. hows that Chad?

Sprinklerman80
12-18-2002, 08:49 PM
Keith, I ended up getting the carpet knife red version. It's pretty much built I just have to paint the body and put the electronics in. they screwed me out of a couple parts but it's not to bad. Did you have a problem with the front axels going through the hub carriers? I took the e-clips off and pressed them through a little more but still don't have the right clearence. The rim locks against the arm of the hub carrier when the wheel nut is on, I guess I will have to put some shims behind it . I havent messed with it to much yet. JD is going to check out this week end.

Bubba, the half time show was pretty good. That one buggy flew about 30 feet or so!!! Glad to hear they are getting a better ramp. That other one was kinda weak, I think you guys were running outa stuff to stack under it. The TC3 didn't jump to well, wonder why?

mine is all together i just need to paint the body. I ran it the other night, can't wait. my wheels was rubbing the streering block to I put a small shim behind it and didn't tighten the nut all the way down (left a little play). my front axle pushed in good

debbies can lay all the smack they want to in an exhibition

Bodido
12-19-2002, 10:11 AM
Yep... I used two shims per side on the front axles. Were you guys missing any bellville washers for the diff? I only got one. Diff is still very very smooth. It's just harder to get the adjusment just right.

It's a rolling chassis now. No electronics. Still need to paint the body.

Keith or Rusty... Anyone know if my servo has shown up yet?

Bubba:

Do you EVER have anything positive to say? I mean come on!!

"The vallencourts are hacks". "Don't want to race 4 cell". "The track is small". "The track is too dusty". "I'm not coming back until THEY fix the track". "The track broke my car again". Blah Blah Blah. If you don't want to race, fine. Don't race. Just quit slamming everyone and everything.

I've had bad experiences everywhere I've ever raced. I've also had GOOD experiences everywhere I race. That's just the way it is.

I do agree with you on the oval thing, though. Our turnouts often double theirs. The only problem is, that the oval racers spend allot more money than us.

What do I know, though. I've only been racing two years. The only thing I really know how to do, is enjoy this hobby. It seems I'm one of the few with this ability lately.

I strongly believe in supporting the places I race, and have always made an effort to give the places I race my dollars. I spread it around as best as I can. Stream gets most of my money due to the fact that is where I race most. That is where I started, and since day one Rusty, Jerry, Keith, and Lisa have treated me as a friend. Tidewater RC sold me most of all of my TC goodies and batteries because that's where I started on-road. Deb's has sold me most everything I've needed for gas truck, because that's where it's raced. I generally buy tires wherever I'm racing. I'm gonna try and order some tires from Homer at the Tiltyard soon, because not only is he offering me a good deal, but he has treated me like gold every time I've raced there. He's let me watch Supercross with him and Danny of SMC in his own house when he didn't even know me. He's fed me. He's let me make long distance calls on his phone. All he's seen from me is a couple entry fees. And entree fees ain't SQUAT!!

I hope everyone knows that I've raced at Deb's and had a real good time. And will continue to do so.

I definately agree with Matt. This shouldn't be turned into a Debbie's or Stream or Tidewater or anyone versus anyone else thing. That's BS and will never do anyone any good at all. I want to continue to race at all these tracks without some stupid grudge match crap going on. The drama helps nobody at all. I take racing pretty seriously, but I still do it to relax. My job is stressfull enough.

Any time someone asks for my input as to when to schedule anything, I try to make sure that there are no conflicts whenever possible. I hope other people are and will continue to preserve what we have now. As it is currently, you could hit Stream Saturday morning for electric off-road, finish up in time to go to Tidewater for some carpet action Saturday night. Then go to Debbie's Sunday to fill your fuel needs. This year we have mod off-road Nats and paved on-road Nats within five hours drive of everyone who posts here. How cool is that? We have it real good in this area, as far as I can tell.

I hope Bubba knows I consider him a friend. I like racing him. He's fast and races clean. I really consider him a nice guy I just haven't heard a positive thing in a while, and it gets frustrating. I apologize if I came off as a jerk. I had a real lame day at work, and I let it get to me.

chad (I know where you been)

I went to Lunsford site and they have a whole Front End Kit for the AE 12L (also CRC). It includes the titanium hinge pin, steering turnbuckels, camber turnbuckels, king pin, 4 alu. nuts and the axles for $32.00, or you can buy them individually. Integy has a new tire truer, I think the street price will probably be around $120.00 not including the 1/12 adapter which is $25.00. Might be some to look in to, check there're site out.

The axles are titanium too not alu.

Dirty has returned, miss me?
First matter. I would like to thank the entire RS family for introducing me to the likes of tenacious D, my three year old kid was supposed to sing a jingle bells solo at my churches Christmas program but instead he thought that kielbasa sausage your butt cheeks is warm was much more appropriate for the occasion.(the program was video taped and is going to be sold) My wife is still pissed at me for that one.

Now for the real issues, I am the proud owner of one Bloody carpet knife. So I shall be present on the opening day at the new facility.

Keith: do you guys have the 64 pitch pinions and spurs?

Ryan: Bring the XXX on opening day at Hampton.

All: Have a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year

I've been around just not having much time for rc lately. Christmas and all has been really time consuming. But As the new year approaches my time is opening back up. I cant wait to get this 12 scale racin going. I didn't know that these cars were so small(compared to 10 scale).

The key to happy relations with a woman is knowing how big of a gift it takes to get her off your back. Man I think my kid was waiting for that moment, I heard him sing it before and warned him about it. I never heard it again until the time when more than just I was listening. My wife said that they edited his performance out of the video. THANK GOD. Jady it's just one of those stories you have to tell your grand kids man. You'll see when you have kids of your own. I think it more more an embarrassment for her than me and him. I couldn't belive it and he was laughing the whole time. IT WAS A CLASSIC.

Dirty D. Tell me you managed to get an un-edited copy of this. We have to see it!!

I'm suffering some serious race withdrawl here. I'm dying!! I broke out the GT Sunday to terrorize the neighborhood kids. It was fun and all, but I still feel empty.... Oh well. No fenders to rub makes Bodido a sad sad panda.

We really need to start a plan for reworking the track. We need to try and locate the dirt, and get a materials list working. The dirt we have now is pretty good, but we just need allot more of it. If we can find something with less sand content, that would be even better. We'll also need a Bobcat and something to pack with. If anyone has some input on this.... Let's hear it.

I was also thinking of hooking up some kind of drainage pipe for that one spot that always stays damp.

Just so everyone knows. The plan is to expand the track. 10-15 foot longer. 4-6 feet wider. We want to make it a little more challenging. There will be banking for higher speeds, as well as a much more technical infield. We're trying to provide allot more passing oppurtunities.

Let's here the thoughts on this.

Everyone enjoy the holidays!!

Chad........ out
