Yea.... I'm gonna try to go as well. Haven't been down there in a long while. I just miss the Denny's, though. Don't know how I feel about their track. I saw that Ronzee posted on another board. He said they may backfill that whole tabletop thing so their is no steps, instead of trying to put the perfect lip on it. I like that idea. He also talked about filling the dropoff from turn 2 into the tabletop. I hope so!! That is the lamest section of any offroad track EVER!!

Has anyone thought about us all going down there like men, with our massive mod horsepower!! Just a thought. Or we could run around like mad and do stock and mod.

Slaprock:

Just so you know.... Virtually everyone runs purple fronts and gray rears in 1/12 on ozite carpet. So I wouldn't stray to far from those compounds. I'm leaning towards either the Calandra carpet knife or Speedmerchant Rev 3. Do you think you Rusty or Jerry could look into becoming dealers?

Hey Chad;

We can get the CRC Carpet Knife V3.1 already, but we have to get a dealership thru Speedmerchant.I may get a CRC myself.

Bodido

Keith

Would it be allot of hassle to become a speedmerchant dealer, or would you have to buy a minimum? If so maybe a few of us can get together to order some. It would be cool if most of us were running the same car. Easier to figure out setups, help each other with spare parts, etc... I'm pretty sure Jady, Ryan, and I are getting one. Don't know about Dirty D... That's at least four, if you're in.

I honestly would prefer the Speedmerchant. The speedmerchant and crc are very simular. Neither one uses saddle packs. :) I hate saddle packs. The speedmerchant uses a cool O-ring deal to hold the pack in. NO TAPING!! The speedmerchant also supposedly has the smoothest damper tubes which are easier to get just right. They both have horrible directions I hear. No pictures or sketches, just an instruction sheet.

Hey Chad;

It shouldn't be that hard just send them the information they need. I already order two of the CRC Carpet Knife, one for me the other for store stock. I looked at both cars ( CRC and speedmerchant) they look alike same features. Crc also uses a o-ring to hole the batteries. CRC have setup sheets on they website And tech support. The new Futaba radio came in, it is BAD that my be another item on my chistmas list. All of you take it easy on the road this weekend and kick some BUTT!

They are talking about running 1/12, 4 cell, road course. Babba you should remember the old 1/12 days back in the early 80'. These guys wasn't even born yet. Back then it was 6 cells, 8 min. and the motor were a lot slower.

Bubba:

What's the big deal about tuning for 4 cell? Lighter brush springs? The benefits to running 4 cells are less tire wear. Far less motor wear. And of course.... Less broken parts. I wouldn't be able to control those things on a 60x25 foot track on 6 cells anyway. If it wasn't clear.... we're talking stock motors, too.

Just buy one.... It'll be fun. I promise. :)

Goldsboro was a hoot Saturday night. Some of the turn marshalling I saw was pretty ugly, to say the least. It did have an affect on qualifying. But it was decent in the main, I think. Josh was TQ. There were 10 of us in mod truck. We ended up running all together in the main. :eek: Everyone was very respectful in the main, despite the overcrowding. Good tight race. Josh ended up losing to Jerry West. Jady finished sixth, despite leading for a while. I was just over a lap off the pace, but finished seventh. Tight field. Ryan was eighth. Shane ninth. And Joe broke, putting him in tenth.

Denny's ROCKED!! As always. We feasted. The waitress loved us apparently... She was calling us all BooBoo... Ryan was Honeybun, however. Let it be known.... Ryan LOVES THE PIE, But He'll share his pie with anyone!!

Glad to hear you're back safely, D. 1/12 should be fun!!

I guess by now you read how we did in Carolina.... Not that great. Oh well. That guy Jerry West is no joke... Very quick. Some guy named Anthony down there was real fast, too. We'll get them next time. I gotta say I really prefer running mod on that track. I thought it was easier. You could still clear all the doubles and tripples even if you had a crappy line.

Keith... Their plan is to have the first race on the 14th I believe. There's talk of running 1/12 and touring on Thursday nights as well. I really like that idea.

They just recieved their ozite, so the ball is really rolling now.

They have a thread in the On road section, now...

Me and JD don't plan on running Saturday guys. He has some things he needs to do and I am just going to take a break. Chad( A.K.A Boo ) I will give you a call tonight about that B-day thing, me and JD are gonna slide out for sure. Get that 12th scale ready D, I think I am getting mine tonight. Sounds like we are getting good support on the 12th scale situation. Sounds like we should have plenty of people, Me , JD, Kieth, Matt, Chad, Dirtty D , and that guy John Murphy.

Attendtion all 12th scales;

Let rusty know what car you are going to run so he can order it, all so is everyone going to stay with the 64 pitch if so I can get him to order some pinions & spurs from RRP (BLK ALU Pinion).

Chad;

I am going to get some Losi (I hated to say that) Hydra-Drive Fluid in for the dampers. Which Wt. STD, HVY or LHT?

Jady;

Whats up, you going to get a Carpet Knife.

Bodido

Carpet knife for me as well. Just the standard one. No blood for me. I think I'm going to polish it all out anyway.

Some associated front end parts would be good to stock. I saw that CRC DOES make a bumper.... We'll be needing those. :cool:

Keith: Get some standard and light fluid. I think standard is the normal setup.

Rusty or Keith: Order me a standard carpet knife and an Airtronics 94145 servo, if you could. Also... Could someone order me a b3 front bulkhead? It's associated part # 9125. I don't think you have it in stock.

I plan on running 64 pitch. I'm looking into what kind of ratios are in the ballpark for stock 4 cell. I'm guessing high 20's to mid 30's on pinions. Not sure though. Spurs... 96-104..?

As far as servo's go, I got most of the bloody Knife together and I use a Futaba 9101. Its between a mini and a standard servo (0.62x1.52x1.36). I don't think I could have went much bigger than that.

Ratio; I read they are running 27x98 stock on uncut tire. Check CRC website. The forum has some good information.

Do anyone know what Ryan is going to run. Tomorrow I will stop by the shop and order a couple more kits and some front bumpers. Also the hydra fluid.
