So do I, and being British I have seen 1:1 of some of these although i remember the army preferred AWD Bedfords from the late 1950s but the RAF did love their AECs, as do I!.
I really like the badge and the olive picture on the boxes seems so much more relevant than the earlier red issues.I have all of the castings but none of the boxes...yet;)

Beautiful models!
So the No.73 is an AEC? What's with the business end of that truck?
On the box it says "High Pressure Fueler" I asume the front half is a big pump.
What would need refueling at high pressure? Just a speed thing maybe?

Yes, it is an AEC that was used to refuel Bombers like Lancasters, Lincolns,Valiants,Vulcans ,Victors and Canberras ,and transports like Beverlys,Hercules,Hastings,Dc3 etc in the 1950s and 1960s. 4 axle model was called ´Mamouth´

Paul, very nice comparasing photos
This clearly shows that Lesney, as well as their competitors, "nicked" ideas for their castings from other manufacturers ;)
