hey tim(or anyone), in response to the debate over what paint works on the lexan bodies......

I have always used pactra on lexan bodies. This paint flexes enough to allow it to stay on the bodies. I read that some say you can use a laquer based paint from walmart(not enamel based) and that it works the same. So being that they come in larger cans can someone say for sure if this will work?

Marlin, I know Tim has your new brakes installed, but not having your radio I doubt they are adjusted.

I have adjusted mine to two different styles of engine, not a big-time consuming deal to do.

Well I did end up using Pactra. Waiting on the numbers and a Big O Pro1 sticker for the hood! Numbers will be ready tomorrow. :wave:hey tim(or anyone), in response to the debate over what paint works on the lexan bodies......

I should be able to make it saturday. The damage to my racecar was much more extensive than I thought after a big crash in the sportsman B-main @ Easley. However, my WCM chassis is still straight as an arrow after being almost knocked over the fence!!!

It's amazing how big of a hit these cars can take sometimes. Then again, somtimes a small bump can take you out of competition!!!

whish mine had been a small bump 4 feet in the air probly about 30mph for 15 feet upside down the cage slammed the top of pit road wall like the old wrestling back breaker move because thats exactly what it done

The key to laquer is not to apply it to thick or wet as it does etch itself into the lexan. To heavy a coat will make the lexan brittle. If you look at the label, Pactra is Laquer based paint.

Alan done a great job at Easley:thumbsup:. He finished thrid with only the left rear wheel pulling. The set screw came loose about forty laps to go. Needless to say he will need a new Left rear tire. LOL

Scott, did I see you @ a offroad race at a track called the snakepit?

ScottH
03-19-2008, 12:14 AM
Nope, I think the only time we have been at the same track is over at MadMax, you were tuning a 1/8th buggy for some guy over there. I just have heard your name around and seen you on the OCM stuff.

I tried the off-road stuff again( I got my first taste of R/C with a Kyosho Ultima, man am I OLD ) for a couple of months and just cannot get the hang of getting any of my wheels off the track. I have spent too much time keeping them all on the ground that flying a car is just un-natural.
