Hmmm. I'm getting a bit of a Fantastic Four vibe here. That's either a good thing or a bad thing depending on your point of view.

Eric Bana is the Hulk, not the dweeb in the new release. I hate Johnny Come Lately actors trying to imitate the originals. Doubt I'll see it. And yes I know Eric Bana isn't Lou Ferrigno. The two versions were not done the same. The 2003 movie version is superior, mostly due to Ang Lee's excellent directing.
But Iron Man on the other hand... Robert Downey Jr... From drug addict to Superhero. Hmmmm. Might actually work.

In the comics, Tony Stark was an alcoholic, so not new story telling there. And, Edward Norton is far from a "Johnny come lately". He has both established himself as an actor, writer and producer for some time now. And, hmmm, the Ang Lee Hulk was 'good'? Not saying this will be either, but...that Hulk was good?

No. The Eric Bana Hulk wasn't "good". I don't think it was "bad" either. Ang Lee is an outstanding director but he just wasn't a good choice for comic book material - at least that comic book material. I stated after the Lee version came out that I'm not quite sure what a "good" Hulk movie would consist of exactly. The Incredible Hulk was one of Stan Lee's least original conceptions. A little bit Jekyll & Hyde, a little bit The Amazing Colossal Man, and a little bit Frankenstein (Jack Pierce meets Jack Kirby). The TV show added The Fugitive element - which worked well for an episodic TV series. But when you get right down to it, The Hulk is just a big green guy who smashes things. There's not a lot to work with beyond that. Maybe TOHO should be producing it.;)

Any FF4 vibe is a bad thing!
I saw this trailer at the movies last night in digital DLP. The CGI just doesn't look good. The Ang Lee Hulk looked more realistic.

I was going to say the same thing. This Hulk looks plastic and they went overboard on the muscle fiber visibility and it just takes it too far and just doesn't look right.

Was real impressed with the Ang Lee Hulk movie, but he did look much better in that one.

He didn't move so well either. Kinda strange movement.

I've read on other boards that the CGI isn't "finished". But that's not the only element that gives me pause. There's just nothing particularly memorable about the entire trailer. It doesn't excite. Norton is a great actor and you hardly even see him. Not one memorable line of dialog. There's no "there" there. Sorta' like the FF4 trailers. :(

When CGI is good, it's great.
But when it's bad... it's unwatchable.
I'm not too excited about The Hulk after seeing the trailer.

Edward Norton is more than capable of carrying a movie. I think he'll do fine as Dr. Banner. The only questions are if the story is good and I'm hoping the CG will be a bit more finalized in the release. I'm assuming this is also an early version of the trailer just to get something out there. I doubt highly that it will be as bad as the Fantastic Four outings, nor does it look as promising as Iron Man either at this point. Aside from the last 25 minutes or so, I actually liked the last Hulk movie.

Having been a Hulk reader as a kid, I liked Ang Lee's treatment of the material. Even a bit twisted around, the emotional energy was right.

Agreed that this trailer didn't get me as jazzed as Iron Man's, but I kinda dig it, I guess. At least this looks like a serious "adult" treatment, but it does feel a bit dry. We'll see.

He was starring in films--starring--when Eric Bana was still doing Australian television. Bana is a capable actor when given the right part, but he was clearly out of his element in Ang Lee's Hulk and his performance is one of the film's biggest flaws. The Incredible Hulk may or may not be a better film than Hulk, but Norton's performance will almost certainly be far more believable than Bana's.

And, in a very "lite" vein, there's these (pretty cool actually):

Ted Cassidy did the voice over for that. :)

That was GREAT!! :)

The very definition of suspension of disbelief: That a guy could have rockets that fit in the heel of his boot with enough thrust and fuel to lift himself and a 10-ton robot into orbit.
