Congrats to Chip for his win and also breaking the speed record in ROC

time: 4.563 ITs official!

Bullit had TQ for the night with a 49/4:02.889

We had some pretty tight racing out there.

I myself...sufferred from traction roll.

Tried a new pair of tires from BSR. Since they did away with the Gold compound due to its availability on the foam...BSR tires came out with a new Compound>>>Gray<<<(or maybe its white...I'm color blind).

These tires don't wear out as fast as the green yet the feel a tad grippier with paragon on them. However, I havent figured out why it causes my car to roll over in the corners.

Total attendance!

ROC -- 5
10.5 -- 2

You know, I gotta speak my mind on this. This track was reborn in August of last year. The idea of rebuilding here was brought to pass and put in motion by a group of people who's passion was in this hobby. Now lets be honest here folks. They built this track for you. What makes this track work is your attendance be it by practice, Showing up to say hi, or racing!

This place is my solitude. My haven, a place away from home. At one time or another, it was yours too. All across the US Tracks like ours are closing up due to lack of business.

We need your support to help keep this last one in our area alive! It ain't gonna kill ya to come on down and to drop a 5 spot a time or two.

As its track motto is said...
This track was built by racers...for racers...

Now, those racers who had a hand in building this nice facility for you are probably feeling frustrated with us. Because, they put their time, money, and energy and thought into these tracks. I would hate to see it go to waste!

Hours of Operations varies but I do know that they are open
on Monday(Road Course Practice)
Closed on Tuesday
Open on Wednesday road course racing starts at I believe at 6 or 630( call shop for details)
Open on Thursday ( Ibelieve the oval is set up by now)
Open on Friday (practice)
Open on Saturday (Oval racing starts at 5pm)
Open on Sunday (Road Course racing starts I think at noon)

Hey Eric

I was checking my Legends over and discovered a bent rear axle. Does Tri-State have any of these in stock? It is the original steel axle that came with the kit.

Remember, It wouldn't be a bad thing to use pan car graphite axle, that way it will just bend to and then back again. We wouldn't have to worry about a speed increase because... well we got a break out:rolleyes:

No mention of the new ROC Track record?????

Sorry Bullit, I hold both ends now, but we both know you and/or your dad can step up and take it, the competition is THAT close! We are that equal, which makes this a blast!

OK. I have a Torpedo on the way.....will it sink me????

Honestly breaking the track record it meant little, as did last weeks fast lap record. 50 laps was the barrier and IMHO we all wanna be the first to hit 51 laps. John knows what I speak off from the old track we raced at years ago.

NEVER FORGET........we have fun, we WILL help our fellow competitor even though they might beat us.

Myself, I just glad we have this venue to compete weekly. Thanks to John Foister!

EricL
11-03-2008, 06:33 AM
Once again, I jinx myself....made too dang many changes at one time to overcome ....something. The only thing I beat was myself! Got back to normal in the B main However, but In the A main I had a possible fast car. But it didn't help trying drive in the same line as art! Sorry Art. once I hit the retainer wall, it was all she wrote.

Great racing folks! Congrats to Brad who broke his dry spell...and won the A main

boy the intensity at the pits...lol

He constently had his wheels turnin!

Finishing order for the race
1 Brad Mullins
2 Chip Tague
3 Art Graham
4 Sam Robinson
5 Jacob Mullins
6 Eric Loquillano (sigh)
7 Tom Collet
8 Andrew Scaegoat

Also, I'd like to welcome the 2 new comers to the track. Great first time racers. Scary at first...but you guys picked it up real well!

Great racing every One

See you on the 8th:woohoo:

Dont forget.... November 8th is Double Points Week:woohoo:

Double Points race!

All cars are subject to tech before and/or after the heat/race and/or breaking track records.

TQ, 2nd and 3rd

Disqualifications are at track managements discretion.

All cars must use Spec motors(NO BEARINGS IN THE CAN OR END BELL), Spec Trinity 1600 mah battery packs, Spec BSR racing foam tires, Any Pan chassis with a minimum chassis height of 4mm or .1575 inches, a Nascar or Nastruck Body WITHa rear bumper on the body or tape to cover the cut out.

Rear spoiler maximum height is no longer than 1 inch.

No loose screws on the bottom of the chassis(hey gotta protect the track)

Remember folks, Communication on the stands is a bonus for everybody!!!

If you feel the presence of gettin your doors blown off....let the fast guy go ...let em know when he/she can overtake ya (example: Bullit you can have it in the next turn) that way....you don't risk the chance of both of you loosin too many laps.

IFMAR QUALIFYING
HEADS UP IN MAINS!!!

John,
What are your thoughts about re-assembly of spec packs?
Based on accepted rules that I have read from other race facilities, the factory seal of the spec pack must always remain in place. -no tampering

If it is okay to rebuild these packs, I have many cells to choose from.

I would hope that battery building would not be allowed.

I would think that if the factory seal is broke, then " Game Over". Wouldn't that compromise the whole idea of the ROC series?

When I reassemble the three packs that were shorted, it will be in saddle style, very easy to see it's not a sealed pack. Assembling them back into a stick pack is a major pain.

I agree, once the pack is unsealed, it's just a practice pack.

future thought for the ....day er...week

I've been talking with friends from afar and have noticed that they are running for a spec class 17.5 brushless with 1600 spec packs. although I have not got an exact answer about the performance...

What are some thoughts about doing this?

Please everyone reply

Eric,Wonder how the 1600s are gonna like the Brushless motor????????

Yes! I am starting to get tired of motors that draw too many amps. I love the idea of an even motor playing field.

Eric

I'd be more interested in running some sort of Lipo battery with 21.5 brushless.
The Team Orion 2400 maH 2 cell around $35.00. One battery and one motor could be ran all season. This would put the pressure on setup and driving.

After going to the track last night and pulled off a full run, 4.6's was what I was pulling, then dropped back to 4.7's and 4.8's down a little further I finished off with 4.9's -- 5.0's

kinda hope this luck sticks around for tomorrow, but I have a feeling the track is going to change! (as usual)

oddly enough, if I do good during practice, I do bad racing!

why, why, why?!?

2008 FALL ROC Points have been posted!

I'd elaborate on the nights events but my rear is tired from kickin my own butt! However, I did bump up to the A main. Ran outta voltage due to some pit accident. Not mentioning any names Chip. LOL..

Another great night of action and fun! Congrats to Bullit who started in Qualified in 3rd in the 3rd heat(finally after fightin a motor problem) first lap showed him in 6th spot...once he got to the 7th lap....he was leadin' and NEVER LOOKED BACK! Infact, he lapped the whole field. WTG Bullit!!! Second place belongs to Brad Mullins, although he was 2 laps behind the leader

3rd goes to new comer Tom Collet Congrats man

In fourth was RJ Erich Glad you were able to come up and race with us...hell of a trip but I hope it was well worth it for you. Our 5th spot belongs to the man who TQ'd for this race.. Chip Tague 49/4:01.326 (btw he holds the track record so far...50.4:00.296 and also fast lap of 4.547

6th spot belongs to Sam Robisnon. Issues with wrecking in ...not one, not 2 but...3 laps earlier started him in the 8th spot. Around lap 19 he moved up to 7th and was closing in. Lap 32 he over took 6th position...and that's where he finished.

Congradulations to Justin Brock... Our Rookie of the Evening... for qualifying in 4th spot of the A main!!! he had a wreck early in the first lap but over came them and finished 7th Not bad for the first time with us!

...and What the heck can I say about Eric L....the friggin loser!!!jk... Seemed like I was screwed from the get go... kept on trying to over drive the dang thing...qualified for the 2nd spot in the B main....Luckily, I bumped up to the A main...and with the battery issue, I suffered defeat to take 8th.

Terry Rupert suffered a DNF... for some reason he only had 2 laps.... I know he got turned around in turn 2 but...didn't exactly rmember what had happened to him.

Anyway....hell of a race everyone.

Attendance for the ROC--13

Seems Sam and me are sharing magnets, we keep attraching each other. (REVERSE POLARITY!)

At the horn I took the lead, Brad hot on my tail, traction rolled about lap three in turn 3-4, got restarted and then is when things get fuzzy!

I know I got pointed wrong way in 3-4 and the marshall didn't turn me around. I didn't have enough steering to make a hard right with all the traffic (well I could of!) so I slammed the car into the wall in front of the marshall and John finally got me pointed in the right direction.

After that it was a free for all. I was several laps down as was Sam. Seem our nerves (MAGNETS) just kept clicking and we tangled. Bullit had two laps on the field by then, dodging the mayhem, be it skill or luck, he made it thru. Late in the race I had to hit the brakes to NOT runover Brad who I knew was many laps ahead of me, ended up putting someone (Tom Collet?) into turn four wall/ice. Sorry but I knew Brad was way ahead of me and I was about to take him out.

THAT SAID......why wasn't it 7 in a B main with two bumpups making it 8 in the A Main?

I know, it was a test. I understand MAJOR events have 8-10 cars in each heat, 13 is an odd number. No major damage to the cars, I suffered a broken body post in a tangle with Sam, but thats it.

13 car ROC Field, wish the car count was like this every weekend.
