Bullit 12-24-2008, 03:22 PM 21.5 Lipo is an absolute blast! The only thing is that according to BRL rules you are not permitted to run a wing on the car, only a 1 inch spoiler. In my opinion this is kinda stupid because with this setup you are running 13.5 4 cell speeds, and the car can be kind of tricky to hold onto through the corners, unless you get it handling just right and rewire your brain to turn in quicker. This setup is not as forgiving if you blow your line through the corners.
bigdog1893 12-25-2008, 12:05 PM Merry Christmas to everyone at Tri-state hobbies and raceway...
ill see you guys after the 1st of the year.

rc_racer 12-28-2008, 09:16 PM I know this is not the for sale section but I wanted to offer this to the local guys first. I have a 17.5 Novak brushless motor for sale it has been ran 3 or 4 times $30.00 and I will deliver it to you at tri-state.
samgkd 12-28-2008, 10:09 PM Put my G3 on the track for the first time Saturday. I missed the first heat, the car was way to loose. After I put some more weight on the LR, the car took off like a rocket and the only thing holding it back was my driving skill (or lack of). Turned the fasted laps I've ever turned, in the 4.2 range. Can't wait to get back on the track to do some fine tuning. I wiil be in Fort Wayne at Summit raceway this weekend but will be back at Tri-State on the 10th.
The 13.5/Lipo 1 cell cars that Chuck and Art were running looked real interesting. If this class takes off, I know what I will be doing with my L4 chassis.
Sam
BoneSpec 12-28-2008, 10:17 PM I found all the parts I needed last night after racing was over to complete my 13.5/single cell Lipo.
Sam, nice to see you up and running against the Chuckster :)
EricL 01-02-2009, 02:24 PM ok folks...who's going to be ready to race???
just a regular race folks...no points.
samgkd 01-02-2009, 10:47 PM Just watched John, Montie and Eli put down some practice laps in open mod. This track is shorter and a little tighter then Tri-State.

BoneSpec 01-03-2009, 01:24 AM For those not in the know yet, Chuck Phfaler (sp?) tripped Thurday on his way to marshall a race, broke his hip. He need surgery, partial hip replacement, he'll be down for quite a bit.
Think we can sneak in a Air Hog heli for him to chase the nurses?
derbycat 01-03-2009, 01:27 AM hope chuck gets well soon. im hoping to be there to get my roc moving alot faster i ran a 6.2 with a very well drained battery before we left tonight maybe i can rac legends with it.:):jest:

tgardner41 01-05-2009, 03:19 AM There’s about six or so racers planning to run a no breakout Super Legend class at Tri State Raceway this Saturday, 1/10/09. 21-turn SPEC or 27-turn brush motors allowed; Any four cell or six cell stick pack battery allowed; Properly mounted wings and spoilers are OK; Otherwise the usual Legend chassis, body, roll out and tire rules apply. These cars fly around the track with near pan car speed but with all the non-stop slam-bam action the Legend class is famous for. So if you got the manhood, crank up that Legend and come on out for some fast, fun, and wild racing in the Super Legend class this Saturday. “BE THERE!”

Dog, Nice work. If that body was trimmed and mounted, not to mention a decent photo taken, you guys would win easily. Good luck!

Haven't gotten mine 100% since the last race!!!!!
Thad, what front bumper did you suggest a while back???? When I have to replace the one I just replaced I'm gonna need something a bit stronger to take Eric out :)
bigdog1893 01-08-2009, 12:48 AM i believe its a bumper off of the traxxas revo... but then again im not 100% sure.. thats just what i remember it looking like
tgardner41 01-08-2009, 02:10 AM Rear bumper off a Revo fits nicely on a stock Legend bumper. Haven't broke any front end parts since installed two years ago, and it is raced hard every week!
FOR SALE Leading Edge Lightning 1/10 pan car rolling chassis. Wicked fast, many time TQ and A-main winner in various classes on four different carpet tracks. Nothing broken, no cracks, this car has a Futaba 59650 servo, Boca bearings, AE Factory Team shock, TM Racing tires with Thunder Discs, Protoform TRD body in good condition, and lots of other go fast goodies. Includes an extra set of tires, an extra front end and a spare light weight diff hub. Perfect car for ROC or any brushless class. Ready to race with your motor, speed control, radio and battery. This car will be available at Tri State this Saturday, asking $150.00 or maybe RC trade plus cash.

BoneSpec 01-08-2009, 02:14 AM Thanks Thad. I need a better servo saver to get mine back ready. I've killed two of the smaller one for Futaba servos, must go bigger :)

I run the same servo saver Chip...and with all the beating I've received...and inflicted....eh em... Mine still works great!
:woohoo:
tgardner41 01-13-2009, 03:57 PM What did you guys think about the Outlaw Legends class? The weather up north kept about five or so guys from coming down. Even with just six of us it was still fun. Those tire marks that go straight up the wall in turn 4 (2?) still there?
:dude:
BoneSpec 01-13-2009, 05:47 PM turn two :)
Yes it was fun, but need to work on the car more. I need to buy my own 6 cell pack, glue the rear ride height adjusters in place, remove one brace so I can run a 6 cell normally.
Yep, I had a blast!
Congrats on the 4.9 legal lap. Well, most legal :)
realdeal 01-13-2009, 08:53 PM We have a group of racers wanting to come up on Saturday the 24th for some oval racing. Will the Snowbirds event change the schedule for that weekend?
BoneSpec 01-16-2009, 03:19 AM Shouldn't change much, the fast guys will be headed to the Snowbirds, John, Monti, and Eli, but the rest of the racing should be as normal.
Where will you be coming from?????
realdeal 01-20-2009, 12:42 AM We'd be coming from Lexington. I'd say it's not looking good right now for a trip.
BoneSpec 01-20-2009, 02:23 AM What classes you plan on running and how many in your group????
2-3 cars make a class, Oval will be set up for Thursday and Friday practice and Saturday racing. Doors open at 10am on Saturday, Signups end @ 4:15, Racing starts at 5pm, run on 1:15 intervals.....if all goes well.
We have a few 21.5 2S racers, I hope to join that rank Saturday. I have the parts but the chassis was just being evil.
