Once we figure out the best gear ratio for speed and battery life i think we should have a rollout rule like in legends, you gear up for smaller tires, down for bigger ones.
I think your good eric!

I dunno about that...that tends to shy people away from racin just a bit.

roll out should be around 3.90-4.05 for this class

When Chuck tried the 21.5 Lipo earlier this year it was just a tick slower than 13.5 4 cell. I drove Chucks 21.5 Lipo car last night and I was sold right there.

I haven't been cycling my spec packs, down to two good packs and don't wanna chance them.

The idea of almost no maintenace between rounds I love. I might think about a second battery just for backup......like when Eric forgets to charge his battery :)

ESC's if other makes are allowed, rollout rule cannot apply. I know LRP uses a different rollout than Novak from overhearing Monti and Eli, but will all end up in the same ballpark range. I was hoping we could keep our same pinions and just buy a smaller spur gear, thus saving money from having to buy 4-5 new pinions at $6 each.

Class name, BLS for Brushless Spec, or SBL for Spec Brushless.....ideas?????

Tires : Rear Green dot both sides.
Left front: blue dot . Right front: Silver Dot

shock springs: left: Gold Right: Blue Center: Copper

Motor brushes are F-Type (correct me if im wrong Eric)

No matter what chassis you have. most of our chassis will have a similar set-up on them.

Eric, learn to decipher Chuck, it is a game.

I gained a lap with a simple spring change on the RF, but what else is I had ALOT more run time left over @ 15 amps, aka th chassis was more efficent and not scrubbing speed.

Dang me for being underweight, oh well, I scaled and lost.

Get used to being whooped by Chuck if you choose to go 21.5 Spec Lipo. NO ONE in ROC class can hold the line he runs. Heck my good average line is a really bad Chuck line and I'm a hack driver.

I hope to run both ROC with what is left of my GOOD packs and then try to chase Chuck in Spec BL, it won't be easy chasing a master, but he is a great teacher.

ok guys...I was thumbin through the posts... and stumbled accross these rules that Summit Raceway has for Pan Car: What do you think???

Brushless Pancar

! Chassis: Any Pancar chassis. Dimensions must meet BRL specs.
! Tires: Any pancar foam.
! Motor: ( Brushless ) Novak 13.5, 17.5, 21.5. Any brand speed control may be used with these.
! Weight: (4 cell) 41 oz. minimum (Lipo) 38 oz. minimum. Weight includes transponder.
! Ride Height: 3 mm minimum.
! Batteries: (4cell) 4600 mah maximum.( Lipo ) SMC 7.4V 3200 mah (part # SMC3228LD or SMC3228LT).
! Bodies: Rear of bodies may not be cut out. Rear spoiler will be allowed up to 1 inch high.

...of course the Ride Height for here is 4mm minimum...but the weight minimum is what I was concerned about...and 38 oz. is what I believe we can be ok with( the same we are adhering to now).

However, I am concerned with opening up the Tires to any foam tire in Spec.
I believe that in order to keep additional cost's down (sorry John) That we should stick to Spec tires with this class. All other rules still should apply.

One more thing... And again its my opinion...and just a thought. steering servo's play a big part in this game. I found this to be true after trying out Chucks car and Ronnies car. (Better ease of Turning). Should this be limited or not...I don't know. But, if we are wanting to have a Spec class...well,...its a thought to think upon.

Let me know what you think!

I've heard nothing but good things about the SMC3200. They are a good stable battery and SMC is comitted to keeping them around for the next 2 years. I haven't heard much about the Orion ( I think the 2400?).

With all the options of lipos that are out on the market today. I feel that sticking to one certain lipo will help the class as that will be another controlled item in our cars. Just like our spec motors and batteries now. But if we are going to decide on one lipo for our class we need to see our options, I've been doing a little research myself on different ones and I've found that Orion's 2400mah 2s hardcase would best work out money wise, which the battery is only rated at 20c. Next option would be the Orion Spec pack 3400mah which puts out 25c
( more power ) but it costs a little more.

here is a link to both the Orion 2400 and the 3400.. also a link to the SMC 3200 which is rated at 28C

I'm trying to get a hold on Spec tires verses Non-Spec tires. Are Spec tires slower than Non-Spec tires? What is the cost difference between the two? Does a driver/car with Non-Spec tires have some sort of advantage over someone with Spec tires?
