Made by Atlas (in China), here is another series based on a European comic - the previous thread reminded me of these. They are in the style of Herge's drawings, so represent his comic book illustration as well as the real prototype car. Herge was well known for doing a lot of research on each car, plane, boat, etc., that he drew for his Tintin graphic novels (ie, comics or BD in French :o)

Several websites list and picture the whole series, which I think is now complete and numbers 70 cars and trucks. Here are 2 good ones: first (http://www.aquitaine33.com/atlas/) and second (http://dardel.info/tintin/index.html). They are nice, heavy metal castings, in a blue window box with a color insert on the illustrated and actual car!

If you live in France, you can buy the first one cheap from Atlas (http://www.editionsatlas.fr/p/02118/La-voiture-de-tintin.html) to get you hooked on the series, perhaps?

That's an awesome set of cars. I'm sure that if I had grown up reading Tin Tin, I would want to have them all.

Destination Moon

Although I am a big fan of Tintin, I don't really collect these cars (I have a dozain of them), I'm trying to focus on models of real cars. A fantastic collection anyway.

Those appear to be quite well made with very clean castings. I can easily understand why they are desirable. Thanx for posting the pics.

That Lincoln Zephyr is nice - I read some Tintin books when I was 9-11 so if I see these cheap I will buy one or two!

My brother collects those. Pictures has been taken about a year ago and now his collection has grown, he almost got them all now.
And to add to the madness, he has started to collect Spirou vehicles, very similar to the Tin Tin series.

Genuine old time charm to those.
American stuff like that always seems much more contrived.
