Hello,

I am interested in racing GASCAR, I am looking at the nitro hyperdrive, but I think I like the Coyote design better, but I can't find a place to purchase the car, do they have a website, or can it be ordered through a LHS?

Thanks

Nitro -- THANKS for your interest in the Coyote NP car.

They are not available in your LHS, although that is a goal of ours. They are currently only available direct from Coyote Racing.

You may contact Tim through the website www.gascarnitroracing.com or feel free to drop me a line anytime harp4002@bellsouth.net.

What part of the country are you in? If you are in the B'ham Alabama area we can get together and you can check one out in person. Also we will be racing at LPR, in Montgomery, next Saturday the 22nd.

Thanks again for you interest!

ScottH,

I live in the Charlotte Area, Alabama is a little far for me to travel to look at a car. I race electric oval at Rock Hill (the grove) according to their website GASCAR will be racing there in June, but on the GASCAR website they will not be going there, if GASCAR is going to Rock Hill in June I can check a car out then, if not maybe I can meet you at one of the races that are closer to Charlotte.

Also, if I were to purchase a Coyote...how long would it take to get parts if it breaks?

Thanks

Nitro -- I think the Grove's webite may be out of date. The schedule that is posted on the GASCAR site is the correct one.

Your best bet to meet us will probably be in Easley. We will be going there several times this year. Not only with the GASCAR series but for the 2008 ROAR Paved Oval Nationals.

As far as parts, Tim keeps enough to keep us in parts so he keeps wuite a bit. ;) Especially last year. I did quite a bit of testing and breaking. But it was all worth it and has really paid off.

If you like, e-mail me and I will send you several pictures of the car.

Well come on down Ol' GoSlowus, class is in session and you have a lot of homework to do!

I'm a little confused...according to the GASCAR website the legal engines for the .12 class are the OS 12cv and the Dynamite 12spd...but those engines don't seem to be available anymore.

Are there any other .12 engines that are legal?

Thanks

We went through a HUGE transistion last yeear with being told that the OS 12cv was still produced to right before the Nats being informed that they were not. The case is the OS .12cv is out of production. BUT, there are several to be found, you can pick them up on ebay all the time. Last I checked the HPI muffler is available at Tower.

The Dynamite engine is available and in stock at Horizon, I just checked.

GASCAR decided to keep with the current rules for the 08 season for several reasons. The cv's were still available on ebay and some other sources, call Hobby connection in Easley, I know they had some for a while. And if we changed to a rear exhaust engine, a total redesign of mufflers and rear pods was going to be in order.

GASCAR is currently looking at an option that will eliminate the need for different mufflers and rear pod changes that will be announced in the coming days so stay tuned.

We are looking at some other options for the 2009 season.

I did a quick searh on Amain Hobbies and Novarossi and RB still make .12 engines with side exhaust...but they both have more horsepower than what your rules allow

No to the Nova Rossi and RB but I have several "like new" OS .12 engines for sale for 75 ea. When I say like new I mean new but no box or instructions

The only two engines that are legal are the OS .12cv and the dynamite .12spd.

The NovaRossi and the RB have about 1.0hp. The .56hp that we have now is more that enough to provide great racing and power.

Cool, I'll probably wait until 2009 anyway, I want to see these cars before I make any purchases...will try to make a visit to the ROAR Nats this year.

Nitrodog,
I have a source for 4 OS12CV engines, new in the box. I think cost is $95 each (complete with instructions). Come to Easley in June and hang out with us. Scott and I will show you the ropes, and even introduce you to Cliff. He's a great friend and competitor, as are all these guys that race nitro oval. Let me know when you want to buy the Coyote.

Hey Guys,

Hobby Stop in Rock Hill happened to have a OS 12cv-r, I went ahead and purchased the engine - it is legal right?

Echeconnee
03-19-2008, 03:57 PM
nope only the CV, the motor with the strange looking red head and black case

nitrodog
03-19-2008, 04:51 PM
The red head and black case? isn't that the dynamite that's also legal?

ScottH

If it is a red head(square) and gray case then it is a CV-x. If that is the case then yes it is legal.
