I'm not sure you know Michel Vaillant, a famous comic character created by Jean Graton in the sixties. Michel's family builds the Vaillante Automobiles mainly sports cars racing the major competitions around the World. Altaya is testing a new collection dedicated to Vaillante. These models are available only in a few selected cities in France. If the test is successful, Altaya may decide to market this collection all over France. Usually, this process takes one year. While on business trip this week, I had the opportunity to buy some. Below is the number 1, the Vaillante Le Mans 1961.

3.99 euros is only for no. 1. No. 2 will cost 8.99 euros and then the regular price will be 16.99 euros.
If you subscribe (but remember it is a test collection, it may be canceled anytime) you will receive :
1st shipment for 8,99 euros : no. 2 + no. 3 + Vaillante keyring
2nd shipment for 33.98 euros : no. 4 + no. 5 + not previously published comic book
3rd shipment for 33.98 euros : no. 6 + no. 7
4th shipment for 50.97 euros : no. 8 + no. 9 + no. 10
5th shipment for 50.97 euros : no. 11 + no. 12 + no. 13 + Vaillant Truck
I think this collection is quite expensive compared to others... You must be a big fan of the comic, I'm not... I prefer models of real cars

You're right, it looks like a Birdcage ! Who makes this ? There's no manufacturer name on the baseplate.

Interesting enough !
What is shown on this French web site is the first attempt made with ATLAS.
Atlas is no longer in charge of the Vaillante collection, it has been replaced by ALTAYA, I guess because Altaya has more expertise in handling that kind of business.
