Thanks for the pix, much apprieciated!

The rear quarters are a bit too short on the Sedan DeVille,
but other than that they both look very good!
The fit of the plastic grill & bumper are EXELLENT! Much better than the Hearse.
Looking foward to upcoming color variations of the Cad. - Love the gold.

Sweet pics of the caddy. Glad to see they painted the tailights on this one. I wish more toy makers would make four door hardtops like the early 70s mopars and esp. GMs like the 71-73 full size cars.

The V-dub looks pretty good too. Just wish these castings would show up on my local pegs soon.

Got these today, finally got the pickup, caddy and the bus! Love the VW Thing. Sorry for the blurry pic, was so happy to have found these just had to let someone know! That isn't on the border line of being pathetic is it?
DCPDGUY, we were pretty close!

I have yet to see these show up on the pegs. I agree, the rear 1/4's on the Caddy do look too short........kinda looks like a 69 version of the 61-63 short deck sedans.....still, a nice casting that I can't wait to get hold of.

Good point on the Short Deck sedans Jim. I had a '61 short deck - awesome car!
But none of my books mention a '63 - I think they were '61 and '62 only.
Jim, you allways seem very knowlegable in automotive history - not many know of these!

Thanks! I double checked because I started to second guess myself on the 63. I did find a link to one, http://www.freemanfive.com/ it is a four window and was called a Park Avenue. I think the 61 and 62 were called Town Sedans, if memory serves me correctly and were all based on the 6 window sedans. Honestly, I can only remember seeing a 62 when I was a kid back in about 1969. At that time, I had no idea what it was, just knew it looked a bit different than the average Sedan De Ville, and asked my Dad about it. He was a Cadillac buff and knew about them.

Wow, thanks for that, Jim! I'm really happy to learn something new about old Cadillacs
especially having owned several. A '58, two '61s, a '63 hearse, and a '65.
I bet you're right about the shorties all being 6-windows. The fact you know the difference
between the 6 & 4 windows is impressive! The '61s however did not have the Park Ave.
name on them as far as I know - mine did'nt.
One thing I can't recall is weather they were a part of the plain 62 Series or the Devilles.
Any thoughts?
Oh, and one bit of info you might allready know - these cars were marketed towards congested cities
is what I have heard.

Hey Jim,
Check out this site - it explains things very clearly. '61 shorties were 6 windows and '62
and '63's were all 4 windows...it goes on and on about all the different models - some I
was not aware of! http://home.wanadoo.nl/shaul/cf/cov.html

I think y'all's perception of short is skewed...here's a short deck :p

That's actually a car that would fir pretty well into MB's lineup...

I couldn't get that link to work but, the marketing of these cars in congested cities, as you stated, would make sense to me. I grew up just outside of New York City so, that 62 short deck I saw in 1969 was located on Long Island.

What the hell, man! That linc worked fine last night, now it's some kind of Nordic itch cream or something!

I fixed the link - I typed it wrong...

Jedi, I'm going to ruin your day like I usually do, MB currently does not have an agreement with BMW. So no new BMW's by MB in the near future.

Now back to your regular diecast MB oriented program.

Cool...I'll have to look for those...a bunch of interesting new releases...I'm esp. interested in the blue Cougar, Caddy, and the '70s Chevy truck. I found the black Citroen DS and Unimog over the weekend at Target.
