I thought it might be a good time to dredge up some of the lesser accomplishments that have come out of our custom works. Maybe it was bad paint, too cold, too hot, a waxing moon, or maybe just too nappy of a roller, but these babies won't find themselves on the cover of anything anytime soon so let's give them their time in the spotlight...

Classic thread concept.

Truth be known I could fill a page with drips, runs and errors because I am the undisputed king of excessive film build, fish eyes, and boogers on the hood or roof. AKA the "Anti-Krylon". Wow cool pinstripping....er....nope thats just cat hair.

Around here I practice slot car eugenics. All mutants and fubars are euthanized at birth. That's why the trash can is never more than a slam dunk from the paint bench.

No body = no crime. With one exception.

I still keep this Fireturd as a reminder of what NOT to do. Spliced rear quarters are cockeyed and pinholed as if by Snoop Dog's AK 47. Never did get the roof straight...I hadnt mastered the Bic trick without first lighting cars on fire. The eight mil...er ..mile thickness of crappy "Model Disasters" Insignia Red hasnt dried fully and it's been 3 yrs!

Congradulation grasshopper.. You have takin first step in painting world..

Bill said it all.. We all have a hidden arsenal of painting..:p
when I first started painting you could smooth out the door lines and then some.. Gives a new meaning to the phrase shaved..
Ahh yes the old lighter trick..It's like a nuck melt down..:woohoo:
I used the trick of the infamous hair drier to dry the paint.. My most famous was a Fray body..Lola GT. Nice red paint. Race the next day. Here comes the hair drier.Hold'er up , Turn it on, and presto.. Roof chopped and body low slung...I was always told hotter was better..LOL
You have took the first giant step AFX.. Learn from what went wrong and go to paintin..

Well if you ever run out of new projects, you could do these again with your new found skills. Anyone who's ever done customs has gone through this process. We call it, learning.:thumbsup: rr
