Hi ya'll,

Just wanted to start up a thread for a new class that should be starting at Hobby World for the next point series. We can discuss the rules of the class as well as post ideas for improving/modifing the class. Its a 6-cell Oval class with everyone using the same battery and motor.

Pro-Spec 2008
- Pan car chassis
- 6-cell Venom 3000 mAh NiMH Stick Pack (sold inside store)
- 21t Ex-Spec motor (considering 21t Venom Fireball 2 instead)
- Any type of tire
- Any type of brush
- Oval race 4 minutes
- Any gear ratio
- Nascar body
- back can be cut out
- wing allowed

Pretty simple class. I found the batteries in the store for 22.99, and the Ex-Spec motor ranges from 24-26 online. The Venom Fireball 2 is only 17.95 and has motor bearings instead of bushings. Each car would have to pass "tech" post race to ensure everyone is following the rules. Track record breaking runs would have the motor broke down after the A-main.

Shawn you've really been out of racing for awhile :p I think George has a COT body. Ask him about it. Here's a link http://www.mcallisterracing.com/racing/page2.html

they look good, is it a generic body? cheap?

COT = Car Of Tomorrow?

Any Nascar body over the past 20-30 years is good. I would like to run that 57 Chevy with a wing and see how it handles, lol :) I bet with the right setup it would be competitive!

I still have that body. I'll bring it w/ me Saturday so you can see/laugh at it.
They would be perfect in Spec,IMO. Everybody would be running the same body. In my experiences, the thing pushes like a pig & eats up RF tires in a hurry-just like the real COT. If you have a good Nastruck setup-it might work.

they dont push that bad we run a CoT spec class up here in Maine ... it pretty popular at 3 out 4 of the tracks ... we run trinity spec motor with the trinity spec 4 cell pack .. and 21 to 28 pinion with 81 spur (48 pitch)
its a fun cheap class to run an all the bodies look tight CoT body is the Bomb ...

Shawn, is the Ex-Spec the same motor we use to race in street spec?
