Hi.. First of all this is my first year to collect matchbox. I've bought several regular cars and I think they are really a nice collectible. I also bought a Superfast which is 3 times as much and I didn't notice much if any difference than the ones I bought at .99. Did I miss something or is it the box it comes with. I hope I don't sound lame, I'm just curious.

Basically only the packaging and maybe wheels are the only difference between the regular line and superfast currently. When the new superfast line came out Matchbox was still in the phase of making really poor models based on animals and generic models. The superfast line at that time was quite a difference than the 99 cent models. Three years later the regular models are so nice there is little difference.

As Tom stated, there is not a lot of difference. Apart from the exclusive wheels and individual artwork for models, the Superfast range also receive a full coverage of tampo printing, which is missing from basic range models, and in some cases (like the Caddy Hearse), a 2-tone paint scheme. They are also very limited editions exclusively sold by Wal-Mart in USA, compared to the mass produced worldwide selling basic range.
:) :D :p

Exclusive wheels is the biggest difference now.
