Last year I finished my hunt for what in my mind was "The Magic Seven" - The 7 earliest Matchbox models with the "script-boxes"

However I still haven't found the earliest version of the Road Roller with the curved roof:confused: The madness goes on!

Enjoy!

I don't have all the script boxes yet. I should concentrate this year on that.

I had a curved roof 1a in a for sale post. When I noticed it had a curved roof I was too embarrassed to tell the person who wanted it that I did not want to sell it. So I don't have one anymore either. :freak::freak::freak::freak:

I think it was '53 for the first 1-75 type series - only then it was 1-3 at first I believe.
Subsiquent years added more models until a total of 75 was reached in '60.
The first #75 was a 1960 Thunderchicken.

Very nice:thumbsup:
I dont have any of these castings and none of the boxes, they are low on my wants list because they predate my childhood and I have no memories associated with these toys, but one day who knows what turns up at a sale when the price is nice;)

My age? 100? You're being kind! Me and Grampa Munster were hangin' out
in the Old Country of Bulgaria in 1253 looking for fang-bait!
Bullshevik you say?

that’s beautiful. a sub collection that can stand alone.
there was always the folklore of the script boxes going up to the number twelve. if none have been found by now it's most likely folklore.
