These cars did not come from my kosher cabinet and are segregated from my legitimate Lesneys.
What to do with the contents of the beaterbox???? Well theres a rare purple Superfast 22 Pontiac GP with a crushed roof thats just crying out for a fine red regular wheels body...
And I have had some more fun with spray paint - 3 more Mustangs resprayed this week , the wide wheels white Superfast with the best glazing from 3 beaters (baseplate popped off easily without need for my trusty drill), and then the remains of the disc wheels and silver hubs Mustangs resprayed as fake colour trial cars with white seats and crazed glazing.
Its amazing how much simple pleasure 10 minutes with a drill and some old Lesneys produces a variation that I am unlikely to ever encounter with a legitimate Lesney rivit, and these worthless beaters take on a new life in what will be a new display......and it keeps me away from the pub for a few more nights:dude:
Anybody else out there having fun with worthless beaters?

A bit more ambition and patience with a needle file produced this (rivits intact) , a combination never sold by Lesney but looks just the business

Very cool stuff. I love finding beaters and give them new life. It's kind of liberating in a way. :)

An old photo of models that have been saved from the beater box.

Long time Lummox  Did U change your mind about wantin those spare cars that I have?
All of these cars in the pix have been modified from common beaters to friday lunchbox specials by me.....the dark blue Iso only had white seats in prototype form and never had wide wheels but I think white seats look much better than blue seats this onetime regular wheel left the factory with. Both the red and the green ferraris from my beater box are very knackered ,but at least it gives me some fun!
