I've collected approx. 150-1/43 muscle/race cars (no NASCAR) and this is the only one that I have with an opening hood and stationary doors. Does anybody know if there are any others?

What about JL Magmas - from around 1999. I'll have to dig mine out to double-check. Here is one from a Mexican website:

After some further investigation I stand corrected (sort of). The (purple) JL car nothing opened, the (lime) Yat-ming car nothing opened, but the (orange) HW car the hood opened only.
Thanx, Frank

Check out the purple JL Magma again. I had to stick a pin into the corner of the hood to get it open (without scratching the paint):

I also have a green JL with same feature:

plus a yeller Cuda by ERTL:

but the trunk also opens!

Yes, you are correct. The hood does open on the JL car.
Most of my cars/trucks/dragsters are Matchbox, but some are GMP, Eagle, Corgi, Ertl and others (I try and stay away from Road Champs). My big thing is highly detailed wheels and total correctness in detail. I find that when dealing with the 43rd scale the manufacturer can accomplish that much easier. Thanx again
It is nice to see some more US cars in 1:43 diecast - for the most part they are very under represented in this scale. I've got the Matchbox series of 12 muscle cars & a few others from Franklin Mint, Dinky & a couple of MInichamps.
I must admit, I'm ambivalant about opening features in 1:43 - if done well, great, however, sometimes the panel gaps and/or poor fitting of the opening parts can spoil the model - some of the FM 1:43 cars are a case in point.

In the near future I plan on showing pix of my diecast collection in this forum. I try to stay away from opening doors/hoods/trunks as I don't feel it is very lifelike, and that is important to me. In the future I will probably be looking to collect 1/43 high end American diecast cars (no offense to others).
