and yes, I have a few from when I was a kid. Very cool cars! Loved em better than Hot Wheels for sone reason. Been into 1/43 scale ever since.

I bought these as a lot for a good price. I haven't done anything with them yet. I don't have a place to display them right now. If I can find some parts I may try to repaint a couple for fun in more realistic colors.

I have one of the silver Ford Mark II cars. Very nice shape. Only missing the spare tire.

Thanks for sharing.

Anybody have any of the pre-Mattel versions? I believe they were originally made by MEBEtoys in the late 60's.

Great Information! I picked up a Mebetoys Ford Mark II, Model #A-24 at a antique store this weekend. I paid $2.00 for it and I would call it a 6 on a scale of 1 - 10. Nice heavy casting that displays nice with my other Ford GT cars.

Yes, I have one of the Lotus Europas. IIRC, still in fairly good shape, although it was played with. The decals are in about the same shape as the one seen above. It keep it on display with the rest of my 1/43s.

Thankyou for the link to a great read, and now I know why the redline era came to an end as it did.I havent ever seen any Grantoros in the metal, but here is my sole Mebetoys and sole Mercury.I have a pair of early 1980s HW made in Italy , a VW Golf (Rabbit Mk1) and an Opel Kadett.More castings to look out for..........
