Very cool cars! Loved em better than Hot Wheels for sone reason. Been into 1/43 scale ever since. matchboxtom 03-08-2008, 03:11 PM I bought these as a lot for a good price. I haven't done anything with them yet. I don't have a place to display them right now. If I can find some parts I may try to repaint a couple for fun in more realistic colors. http://i11.photobucket.com/albums/a159/matchboxtom/1-43/toyota.jpg http://i11.photobucket.com/albums/a159/matchboxtom/1-43/porsche.jpg http://i11.photobucket.com/albums/a159/matchboxtom/1-43/lotus.jpg http://i11.photobucket.com/albums/a159/matchboxtom/1-43/hw1.jpg http://i11.photobucket.com/albums/a159/matchboxtom/1-43/gt40.jpg http://i11.photobucket.com/albums/a159/matchboxtom/1-43/ferrari.jpg http://i11.photobucket.com/albums/a159/matchboxtom/1-43/alfa.jpg 96gsfan 03-08-2008, 07:25 PM I have one of the silver Ford Mark II cars. Very nice shape. Only missing the spare tire. Thanks for sharing. plankowner 03-10-2008, 04:23 PM Anybody have any of the pre-Mattel versions? I believe they were originally made by MEBEtoys in the late 60's. karl s 03-10-2008, 04:57 PM Yes you are right - I have a few... Some fascinating reading: http://www.grantoros.com/grantoros/history.html and http://www.grantoros.com/grantoros/mebetoys1.html plankowner 03-10-2008, 08:56 PM Great Information! I picked up a Mebetoys Ford Mark II, Model #A-24 at a antique store this weekend. I paid $2.00 for it and I would call it a 6 on a scale of 1 - 10. Nice heavy casting that displays nice with my other Ford GT cars. Capt MarVell 03-13-2008, 03:38 PM Yes, I have one of the Lotus Europas. IIRC, still in fairly good shape, although it was played with. The decals are in about the same shape as the one seen above. It keep it on display with the rest of my 1/43s.
