Can somebody explain how enduro races are ran, and do you have partners to race with ?
I'd like to try to do one of these but not sure of the format.
Are there rules for this type of format?

I used to have a link with rules for the 24 hour race in England but can't find it. Teams of six drivers with minimum and maximum racing time for each. They had periodic breaks in the racing. I think teams supplied bodies (rules for them) and they were given bags of put it together yourself chassis pieces by the people running the event. Etc...
There are no standard rules that I know of. Make up your own .

DHORC don't have a website anymore, but they are on wikipedia.
Their format is 24hr race, 8 lanes. Everbody qualifies and that sorts the grid, team with fastest Q time pick their lane to start in, usually the first of the tough ones so that halfway through the race all the tougher lanes are done. Team with second fastest Q time pick next and so on.
Teams are between 5 and 8 drivers strong, with 5 and 6 generally considered optimum. Time on each lane is 3 hours with slight downtime for lane changes. Any team member that drives most do at least two hours in total, changes take place on any 15 minute interval. There is a limit on how much driving you can do without swapping (a bogus HSE rule to try and stiffle Team USA) but no limit on how much time any one person can do over the course of the event.
These numbers can be tweaked of course, although experience has taught me a minimum sized team should be 4 drivers, even for a 6 or 9 hour race, especially if you are the home team and have to run race control.
