I wanted to go so I could see the Finkosel (pages 8 & 9) but it just isn't going to happen this year.

I must be getting old because a LOT of the rims on those cars I just find totally fugly. The blingy stuff just don't look right on old muscle to me.
The interior n the red & black '70 Challenger was pretty sweet, however, and the black slammed hot rods on page 8 I think it was were pretty cool in all their primered and open-fendered glory.

Yeah Doba we're old, jaded and crabby! Buck up though, the things we like will be back in style soon enough.
In general I tend to walk right by the "been there seen that a thousand times cars" and seek out builds that arent off the "billet rack". It's one thing to throw a big wad of cash and lipstick at a car and bolt it up, but it's a whole nuther ball game when a builder blends a pile of the unlikely into something that makes ya go...hmmmmmm!
I got a serious kick out of the black roadster with the shoehorned V-10. The Volks square back with mid engine twin cam "Sooby" transplant is innovative. Might give me some motivation to get off butt and finish my 56 oval bug with the 911 flat six in the back seat. (currently a piece of backyard art hotly contested by the war department)
The rats and nostalgia rods are always high on my list because they reflect an era that predates $20,000 dollar paintjobs and the "Riddler" mentality. Cars that may actually hit the pavement from time to time!
The giant tube of testors and parts on sprues tickled my funny bone...a great display.
Thanx for sharing Marty.

Many years ago when I was a member of the Maumee Valley Street Rods we would all go up on Thursday night. We would be wearing our club shirts. That was all that was needed to get in free during set-up. Well, you had to pretend to be pushing one of the show cars in.
"BADGES?!? WE DON'T NEED NO STINKIN' BADGES!"
Eventually they required passes and ID to get in.
