Time for a new thread since we are well into 2008! Just a bit of info for racers not familiar with Victory...

Victory Hobbies hosts Dirt Oval on a high-banked indoor clay tri-oval on Tuesday nights and carpet road course and oval racing on Thursday nights. In the summer we move the dirt oval racing outside to a 235' nitro-electric clay dirt oval.

Prostar, Green Bay's long running R/C racing club operates their weekly show at Victory R/C Hobbies on Wednesday nights through the winter months.

Thanks to everyone for making our first two years in Green Bay a great success!

Just a quick note... Mr. Heft dropped off some loose 4600's today with some good looking numbers. They are going fast so if you nedd some great cells at a great price you need to stop in within the next couple days.

Guys I am in need of some setup help. From setup to tires. I am running on a rough clay oval track. It has a 165ft run line. And gets a water misting after each round of heats. What I am having troubles with is in the turns. I either get a push or loose condition. I just can not seem to find a close sweet spot no matter what I do. We run rubber tires because the track is to rough for foams.
I am running buggy springs cut down to give a softer ride. I have 25wt oil all around.
The shocks are all the way in on the arms and towers. Other then that its stock setup from the box.
Some advice would be helpful
Thanks

Sounds like you need to go a bit softer in the spring and shock oil. We have been softening up the sprint car suspensions using the soft Integy springs and the cars seen to respond well. Having too stiff of a set-up will make the car unforgiving when track conditions change. That's the nature of dirt oval... the track is constantly changing!

Hope this helps! Brian

Thought I would mention that we are allowing 7.4v Lipo batteries in the 6-cell classes. (both carpet and dirt oval) Some of the guys have been using them so I thought I would clear up any questions.

Some guys like em, some don't so it's up to the racer as long as the Lipo is clearly marked as being no more than 7.4 Volts.

Also, the Lipo's must be charged in a Lipo charging bag.

Thanks! Brian

I was at the shop today and the track looks like it handled the rain pretty well! I'm not sure hoow much rain we got but there was puddles around the track but only one ON the track. I think the extra clay and the drain tile Buddy installed did a good job. I'm thinking we should be able to begin our outdoor program on Tuesday June 3rd. :woohoo:
