You guys may have noted that the Protoform #1224 Dodge R/T (medium downforce) body is no longer on our web site. Unfortunately, the R/T had reached that crucial "tipping point" where the sales numbers had decreased to the point where we weren't even covering the royalty payment$ to Dodge's licen$ing agency.

HOWEVER - we will be releasing a new body with similar performance traits on April 15th. It will be called the "F-MD" - and will surely make you blue oval lovers happy. It will be a Nationwide Cup style of car - not a COT. Please don't try to order any until then. I'll keep you posted on the part number.

While I'm at it I've got a confession to make to you all. Yes - I'm crying "Uncle!" :hat:
I vowed that I would never do a COT car because they were so ugly......well I'm actually starting to like them. They're growing on my a bit more each week. They've made the racing very interesting so far in 2008. I don't know exactly when I'll release one - but I will be starting to build one in the next few months. Will it be a better body than whats out there now? Absolutely not. I do feel that this body style can be made to work fairly good for the stock and 13.5 classes. Time will tell.

Please note* There will be an all new "C-HD" Nationwide Cup style body released before the COT style body as well. I'll keep ya'll posted on any developements.

i believe the cot body will be a major seller dale.i could see the tracks running a 17.5 motor with the cot body and leaving the back of the body in.sounds like a nice class for the low budget/spec/new racer class.

Protoform said they would have a part number on April 5th and that they would be ready to ship by the 15th if nothing goes wrong. I give Harmony a heads up for 250 of the new bodies as soon as they are ready.

YES!! I liked the old monte carlo HS that was an awsome body at the velo, still have one too but its not useable for the velo. at the current moment..

part number 1228-21, as of now everything is still on for the 15th. Pro-line has had an issue with getting the protoform header cards but everything will should be taken care of before the release date on the new body.

thanks for always staying current with your body choices. No matter what I race or where I race there is always a style that will meet the need. At our local track we run a break out class. I had been running a proto charger body. Last week a friend talked me into trying a M brand COT body. For stock, breakout racing this style will definitely work! I had to turn my throttle down 30 percent to get the speed down to keep from breaking out. This body might be a bigger seller than you think. I know I can't wait to try one! When will they be available?

Since it's a post for Protoform bodies I have a question. When people are talking about cutting a body in outlaw mode is it by using the closest line from the lights in the car's nose? And what would be the best spot on the sides? I suppose this way it would give the look of a Late Model Sportsman.

Due to a series of "Murphy's Law" incidents in the last week - not to mention my studio photograper leaving town to be a guest speaker at a photograpers convention (the nerve of that guy ! - where's his priorities? lol!) - the photos will be some just "temporary" did-it-myself shots. The RCX Show starts in a few days and Proline decided that they needed to delay all of their product releases 2 days because of that. They should be posted on the 17th - I'm told. Barry sweet talked them into getting an order a bit early - and for that I'm gratefull.

Hope you guys like the "F-MD" Hope it works well for y'all as well. Well - I'm heading to the airport in the next few minutes and flying to the RCX Show - so I'll be unable to answer any possible questions for a few days.
