I was packing away some things preparing for a carpet installation in the basement and came across this 1991 AW catalog. It has some significant news for that year and also had a track layout that was similar to a discussion here about the Clubman tracks and others offered by Oscar.

Here are the more significant things from that issue I took photos of: (scanner down)

"The AFX Big King 444" track kit offered as a complete package. Interesting note; this track was design by Bob Lincoln the Wizzard. Some catchy advertising in this ad. Funny to see- I had highlighted some of this text for advertising ideas when I considered opening a shop yeeeeaars ago. ;)

The first Tomy Super G+ cars.

The first Tomy Super G+ race set.

The first Rokar M cars.

Slottv,

Here's a funny thing about the track you said built by Wizzard. I Just recently sold that track. For those who ran at the Nationals in Breezwood Pa, ran on the track. It was the track that the Novice amature was run on in 2001. I ended up with the track later that year. It is up for sale again I heard and is the track the Wizzard designed. Orig.Purchased at the Ohio slot show 8 to 10 yrs ago. The only change was a small s wiggle after the turn from the 6 inch turn.
There is another replica in Virgina that MASCAR runs on. Great track configuration for quick running:thumbsup:

We bought that track back in 1994. It was a great track. We did however reconfigure the track to get rid of some of the tight 6" radius turns and added a bank curve.

The ad stated that it came with the "Pro" terminal track (2 power paks & 2 contollers per track). Instead, we recieved 4 regular terminal tracks modified for 1 transformer per lane.

When the track arrived, every piece was packaged. It took two of us a good 30 minutes just to open and get out all the track!

At the time we ordered, Auto World was really called "Mail Corp" and was ran by a very helpful man manned named Ray. Did anyone ever deal with Ray and know what happened to him?

I wish I'd grabbed more of those Rokar open wheeled cars. I've taken a liking to them but they are in very short supply.
