Apl Hed 03-02-2008, 09:47 PM 1/8 electric? or is that supposed to be 1/18 electric?
420 Tech R/C 03-02-2008, 10:30 PM I think thats really 1/8 electric.if so thats cool , but in the same token sounds dangerous to marshall.
FishRC 03-02-2008, 10:47 PM It is 1/8th. 1/18th is not part of the regular schedule this year.
Stateline R/C 03-02-2008, 10:57 PM wear steel toe boots
crashmaster 03-02-2008, 11:35 PM booooooooo there shouldn't be masters that means most of west bound would be in it lol

bustedparts 03-02-2008, 11:46 PM I think there might be a good chance I may compete this year!
crashmaster 03-03-2008, 12:04 AM i think to make it fair to all the racers that there sould be a track in the northern part of michigan for the sept race
420 Tech R/C 03-03-2008, 12:13 AM I plan on it ( wearing steel toes) and will probally marshall for my kid if the race order falls so he has to marshall the 1/8 stuff.not dissing it for sure I just wish I had known they were going to have that class a little earlier so I could set one up instead of a 4wd 1/10 car!!
XXX KEITH 03-03-2008, 12:35 AM yeeeeeeeeeeeee hawwwwwwwwwwwwww
Stateline R/C 03-03-2008, 07:35 AM they already said no kids marshaling those
ETOWNE 03-03-2008, 07:47 AM I'd better get on that 1/8th boat.Need a chassis.
ETOWNE 03-03-2008, 07:58 AM Hey FISH, This is just a suggestion. I have made mention of it before. Maybe, the last race we couuld have a nostalgia race.Car count drops off anyways.Since alot of stuff has been re-released, it wouldn't be hard to do.All pre 90's.All entry's on the track at 1 time, whether it is 6 or 20 entries. The motors that come with them. Just a thought.
FishRC 03-03-2008, 09:35 AM well E.. just bring that up at Litchfield at the drivers meeting and we can see what happens. Though i'd say modern brushed stock motors and shuch, using vintage ones might be a bit distructive.
airconde 03-03-2008, 11:24 AM Looks good
420 Tech R/C 03-03-2008, 12:26 PM quick question. will the j concepts J82 1/8 buggy be allowed in the 1/8 electric class??
scrmngchkn 03-03-2008, 01:13 PM booooooooo there shouldn't be masters that means most of west bound would be in it lol
You're the reason theres a masters class!:freak:
PreFontainerc76 03-03-2008, 03:19 PM Hey Guys, I am planing on running mod. truck. I have been winning mod a main at rapid competition but have never raced in a series. Does this mean i have to be in novice?
Noah PreFontaine
PreFontainerc76 03-03-2008, 03:23 PM Also, are all the tracks in Michigan?
420 Tech R/C 03-03-2008, 03:31 PM Noah I am sure that novice is a choice and not mandatory if you havent run the series before.
FishRC 03-03-2008, 04:09 PM Noah, you would not have to run Novice. It is more for the we racer that has limated experiance to see what a series race is like. Buggies and trucks will run in the same novice class. You could see a Blackfoot running with a T4 and a XX buggy. And no Crash, you can't run novice, thats why we said ANY prior season.
No, not all the tracks are in Michigan, Stateline is just a tick over the state line.
420, I see no reason the J82 1/8 buggy should not be allowed in the 1/8th electric class. Its just will be at the disadvantage of only having 2WD. Not having seen one yet, some one needs to tech it to the spec of the 1/8th class. See ROAR rule 9.4.2.9-14. Wheel base min of 270mm. They also have to use 1/8th scales tires and wheels.
HERSHEYSQUIRTS 03-03-2008, 04:46 PM What about starting times and what system are we using: Rocket round or Points??
FishRC 03-03-2008, 05:19 PM Signups 7am to 8:30am, First race at 9am. Sticking with rocket round this year for qualifying. The feeling for this year was to try and keep it simple.
420 Tech R/C 03-03-2008, 06:43 PM never mind I was under the impression that it was going to be an 1/8 electric open class as others run it, so I will pass on that class this season.

LOSI_Duck 03-03-2008, 09:43 PM Hey Fish, what is Rocket round and If I can make those dates what Class would James be in?
S. Jerusalem 03-03-2008, 09:51 PM Hey Fish, what is Rocket round and If I can make those dates what Class would James be in?
Rocket round is when the mains are sorted by your single fastest run. Points would be your best two runs. Me likey rocket round.
FishRC 03-03-2008, 10:44 PM never mind I was under the impression that it was going to be an 1/8 electric open class as others run it, so I will pass on that class this season.
We have not tied it down that tight. Most 1/8th are originaly gas buggies switched to electric. I'm not sure how your defining an open class as were not saying what the motor or the cells have to be. Let us know what you would be looking to run.
420 Tech R/C 03-04-2008, 12:20 AM Well fish, I know alot of the guys running the conversions are running maxamps caseless lipos . so if they have to run a hard cased lipos in their buggies it may be a deturant to running the class in the series. I will just wait this season out and see what comes of it. no offense intended.
LOSI_Duck 03-04-2008, 06:46 PM Rocket round is when the mains are sorted by your single fastest run. Points would be your best two runs. Me likey rocket round.
Thanks!
crashmaster 03-04-2008, 11:31 PM so let me get this strait is it your fastest lap in all three heats our your fastest heat
ETOWNE 03-05-2008, 08:03 AM so let me get this strait is it your fastest lap in all three heats our your fastest heat
It's the same as it has been.
I wish you could race just as much as the time you spend on here....lol
DJ1978 03-05-2008, 03:54 PM I'd better get on that 1/8th boat.Need a chassis.
Check out www.rcproductdesigns.com
The Electric 1/8th scale class is a developing class. Most use soft case LIPO's. One of the organizers has been racing at Washtenaw all season and is familiar with the class.
It is an open class that is VERY high powered. Unlike anything you have ever seen in electric racing.
If they are requiring hard case Lipo's, MOST 1/8th scales will not show up.

I just wish he'd learn to spell! Sound the word out Crash!:dude:
FishRC 03-05-2008, 04:32 PM I'll get it confirmed, but at this point we have not required hardcase LiPo. Unless I fuzzed out at the meeting, not to say thats not possible, the LiPo ruling was hard or soft case. We are an outside race and as such, if you choose to run LiPo, its is your pit and your pitmates that are at risk if you fail to take proper care of your LiPo. So for 1/8th you are good to go with soft case LiPo. If Washtenaw ran it in 1/8th you should be fine at this race. Most everything at Washtenaw is a 1/8th ROAR legal nitro converted to electric. So body, wing, wheels, tires and chassis is already to spec. IF not let me know and I'll get an answer back asap.
Stateline R/C 03-05-2008, 05:07 PM yes i think that was what they said, lipos either way.
PreFontainerc76 03-05-2008, 05:11 PM will there be sign-ups for the series or do we just show up and sign up?
420 Tech R/C 03-05-2008, 05:27 PM show up and sign up man.
PreFontainerc76 03-05-2008, 05:30 PM will there be shirts?
Stateline R/C 03-05-2008, 06:25 PM they were talking about some to sell i think
groundhogg 03-05-2008, 09:41 PM Hmmm.... that doesn't jive with my conversation with Billy Sunday night.
He said hard case only, because Roar required hard case lipos. (I remember because I have a couple soft case lipos and I wouldn't be able to use them.) I mentioned that although MORRL is using ROAR rules, they aren't using them strictly. This would be one of those issues to reconsider, IMO.
Maybe time for another pow-wow?
420 Tech R/C 03-05-2008, 10:09 PM yep. Need to know whether I need new ones or can run what I got. BUT if we are running by roar rules that requires hard case, AND a charge sack.
psycho02 03-06-2008, 08:34 AM I would think you would want the charge sack just for safety, wether it was roar rules or not. I know I am getting one.
420 Tech R/C 03-06-2008, 09:39 AM already have the sack . was just stating that if things are going to be done by the book they are required.
HERSHEYSQUIRTS 03-06-2008, 11:20 AM Where do you guys buy your lipo sacks @?
420 Tech R/C 03-06-2008, 12:32 PM tower hobbies. 23.99 for woodmans liposack.
crashmaster 03-06-2008, 07:04 PM It's the same as it has been.
I wish you could race just as much as the time you spend on here....lol
at this time you spend alot more time on here then i do lol:thumbsup:
FishRC 03-11-2008, 08:32 AM A bit of update news.
There is no decision yet on LiPo soft vs. hard case. We will make the announcement soon. With this an issue of safety we just want to give good direction on this. (for me personally, if you’re buying LiPo now, go hard case, if you end up at a ROAR track it will be required). We want to keep racing open to as many people as possible and keep things fun.
Also please note, Aug. 23 - Pheasant Run, is going to change dates. We will be racing at Pheasant Run but the track has requested to move the date.
MOOSE6382 03-11-2008, 06:37 PM leonard you going to east west race?
