The HERBIE DERBY and SK Enduro 200!!
April 26, 2008 - Qualifying starts @ 6pm
We've added a fun night of racing to the schedule on Saturday, April 26. Stafford Motor Speedway forces us to be closed on the following Sunday the 27th, so we thought we'd put on an event that would be fun and not cost any more than a typical practice or race day. There are no trophies for this event, but we will hand out medals and possibly award plaques personalized with names and pictures and try to have some fun 1st, 2nd and 3rd place prizes for winners. We will have BUMP-UPS for this event!! Here are the basics:
The Herbie Derby
Rules:
Any 1/10 scale chassis (pan car, on-road, SK, we don't care!)
batteries: 4 cell, up to 4600 Nimh
27T stock motor OR 17.5 brushless Novak motor
foam tires
1/10 scale VW Beetle/Bug Body
The feature (A-Main) will consist of 75 laps. B-Main will only be 50 laps. 2 rounds of 4-minute IFMAR qualifying and heads up start in the main. Qualifying will set the A-Main field with 7 drivers.
B-Main Bump Up: The winner of the B-Main will advance to the A-Main to start in 8th position. As a reminder, Turn 4 only runs 8 pan cars max in a heat.
Cost for Herbie Derby:
If you buy the body from us for $25, the race is FREE! If you bring your own Beetle body, the cost is still only $10!
The Mini-Herbie Derby
Rules:
Any 1/18 scale chassis
box stock with 1400mAh max batteries
foam tires
1/18 scale VW Beetle/Bug Body
The feature (A-Main) will consist of 50 laps. 2 rounds of 4-minute IFMAR qualifying and heads up start in the main.
Cost for Mini-Herbie Derby:
If you buy the body from us for $15, the race is FREE! If you bring your own Beetle body, the cost is still only $10!
The SK Enduro 200
Car Rules:
Our regular SK rules apply for this race.
batteries: 4 cell, up to 4600 Nimh
27T stock motor OR 17.5 brushless Novak motor
Team Rules:
Your team must consist of 2 or 3 people. 2 drivers minimum with the third optional teammate doing pitwork ONLY, no driving. No more than 2 cars per team!
The feature (A-Main) will be 200 laps. B-Main will only be 150 laps. Drivers will be allowed to pit every 50 laps to change car & driver. At a minimum, the transponder MUST be swapped out of the car leaving the track and into the car being put on the track. Should a vehicle crash and be disabled before the 50 lap segment is complete, the team can put down their alternate car and change drivers, BUT the alternate car/driver cannot come in to pit until he/she has finished the incomplete 50 laps AND his/her additional 50 laps.
We will have SINGLE CAR QUALIFYING for the SK Enduro. Driver will have 5 warm up laps and then 3 counted laps that will set the field for this event. The team chooses which driver/car will qualify, so only 1 car/driver will qualify per team.
Qualifying will set the A-Main field with the top 5 teams that will go to the Enduro 200.
B-Main Bump-Up: The winning team of the B-Main advances to the A-Main to start in the 6th position. As a reminder, Turn 4 only runs 6 SK cars max in a heat.
Cost for SK Enduro:
