Looking for a good roll out for a 17.5 on a 115-130 foot track I have a Idea but im not shure???

Im thinking about a 3.5 to a 3.6 roll out.

I ran a 3.4 rollout on a 90 ft. runline oval....... motor temp around 120 and was running full trottle around the track.....

ok, what does everyone think for a 150ft runline?

I ran a 3.49 on a 108ft track last night so thats about ball park. with a lrp. I usualy figure this to start with and then adjust as needed

13.5= around 100points higher than you would rollout your stock brushed motor

17.5= around 150points higher than you would rollout your stock brushed motor

works for me others might disagree.

Start out at what you think is right ratio, this is what i usually do? Then make a run pay close attention to motor temp! I think Novak says not to go over 150 degrees? SO I would stay below that, and watch your lap times! Add a tooth till you start to slow down in the begging of your run, or the car just feels flat no rip! When this happens go the other way,temp is very important! At are local short track 88 feet run line I started out in the begging of this season at 121 degrees. When I finish now last week I think I was at 141 degrees after five minute run. And keep the temp gun or whatever your temping with in your pocket so as soon as you stop check it! Hope this helps.

well last night I ran at a 145 foot runline track yesterday and found that a 3.88 roll out worked the best.

375 to 385 on a 80ft track but 17.5 motor temp should be from 120-130

what would you suggest to run for a 145 foot runline track.
3.8 or 4.0 or lower???

no-one can tell you definite what gearing for you to run. depends on you driving,hte track(how tight the corner), your motor and s.c.
just go out there and make runs. gear up and down, see what "feels" right for you and your car. Check your lap times and see if they reflect this.

try rolling out at a 3.70 or 3.80

find out what the 13.5 guys are running and go up like .50, thats where i start for every brl race i go to. The guys i race with are like me and don't know 17.5 rollout for every track, So we start .5 higher than the 13.5 cars... It has worked out well so far.

the thing is each motor is slighty different so its hard to tell

Thats correct, I have notice about 600rpm's difference between motors....So what it did is back of the timing so 17.5's rpm's are the same.

i do agree with everything being differnt... He was just asking for a ballpark, so if he goes up to a couple guys that run 13.5 he should be able to come up with a pretty good starting point for 17.5

I ran a a 385 rollout on 135 ft run line and and car tq a main. Temp was 135

for a stock 27t motor on a 300ft runline track i would say anywhere from a 3.20 roll out to a 3.50 rollout.

on a flat carpet track they geared them around 4.20

Based on what you're describing I'd take a shot around 4.80 to 5 as a starting point.

i say starts low and gear up and once you hit 125-127 degrees after 4 minutes stop there

13.5 On A 150' Runline We Run About 320 With The Timing Ring Turned Down For More Torque

i have dirt oval car with 17.5 and ae 2.25 transmission .i looking for roll out for 240' center line . i have cw tires

man I hope you guys are all talking about 4 cell 17.5 and not lipo 17.5, if you aren't I am really out to lunch!

New to brushless

Also for timing on Novak motor is it really really recommended to crank it all the way up?

What kind of lap times are they turning on your track with the 17.5/4 cell?

My GUESS would be around a 3.50 rollout looking for around a 3.4 second lap time, but I don't know if that's in the ball park for speed or not. (That works out to around 22 mph Average)

Lap times are about there. Ran a 3.70 rollout and had high 3.4's up front with times only dropping .05-.1. Motor temp around 135-140
