Hi folks!

Well, I have invested a lot of time reading since this hobby got a hold of me again. I am recognizing problem areas and using tips from pros to do justice to an old Monogrom A-18 that I'm turning into a CF-188A (CF-18).

After reading a lot about rescribing raised panel lines, I have to admit: I considered it. Then I caught myself by remembering I am not just "putting together models" like when I was a kid - this would have to be done well. And, not wanting to take the chance, I opted to pull that rabbit out of a hat some other day.

So, two questions:

1. Does a pre-shade on raised panel lines look okay? No one ever advertises their successes shading raised lines.

2. Can I pre-shade with a small brush? My airbrush is a basic single-action, and I just haven't gotten a handle on proper mix and thin/straight line practice. However, I don't want my inexperience to slow the production of this model too heavily. If I can brush on a dark shade and then use my time practicing a "spray can" type of application, I think I'll be better off working my way down than up in spray sizes.

Thanks... Nice to have a forum of folks more interested in this than my fiancee :p

Cheers,
