Hey guy's, I'm waiting on my WCM sprint car to arrive. I have questions and need advise on the electronics. I will run it on pavement but mostly a DIRT, track. So, I need products that will stand up to the punishment and environment. Here are the products that were suggested by a dealer. Not to second guess this guy, he's very knowledgeable but, I like to do my research.

Radio- Futaba 3PM 3 channel 2.4 GHz and receiver.

A guy told me he prefers servos with ball bearings & steel gears.
I'll need a battery & servo box. Any particular brand or stock number from Tower ?

Any other items ?

Is "Tower Hobbies" the best place for price ?

Please feel free to give your advise & opinions.

Thank you,

The Futaba 3PM 2.4 Ghz Real Good Radio Idea. & Can be purchased with S3305 servos. $ 170.00 - 185.00 depends on local. The Futaba monitors Two distinct channels not one like the others. Beside no frequency hassles!

The S3305 servos are ball bearing servos. The Motor drive gear is the only nylon gear in this servo drive train. Go with the S3305's, I've got them in my 1/4 pounder.

Futaba 6" extensions, On Ebay are cheaper.

Futaba 6" Y plugs, On Ebay Cheap also.

No need for heavy duty extensions unless you are worried about breakage.

I like the OFNA servo savers better. Biger better spring operation in the Fuitaba spline. But it really depends on how big a screw will be used to attach the servo saver to the steering bar.

Here is a Good one for you receiver box. A Wal-Mart travel soap box. Cost a hole .99cents! See saved you 6.00 bucks already.
I won't leak because of the seal and hinge, won't flip open either because of the latch provided. Which also make any changes easy. I use them with out any problems.

I'll purchase items from my LHS if the price i will not knock me out. But if a big discont can be had I'll Ebay in a heartbeat.

You do not need to have a account with Tower to get real good deals. Like The S3305 servos can be purchased rather cheaply and if purchased in a multiple buy you can save more money. But if your are going to purchase a lot od Futaba stuff then join up and get some more savings. Last year I purchased (2) Futaba 3PM Synthesized & (1) 2PL Radio. I saved $40.00 and got to pay it off in three monthly payments.

Great, I knew my buddy was correct, just had to get another opinion. Looks like I'll be calling Tower & going shopping at Wal-Mart. Do you have a part number for the soap box ? LOL !
Thank you
