View Full Version : Green Machine?
scgt1 02-24-2008, 12:46 AM What is all the fuss about the greenmachines? I just recently started running into the greenlight brand at target and toys r us. My girlfriend and I are avid drives of 3rd gen f-bodys. So we are also big collectors of f-bodys. I'm just curious what the big deal is with the green ones?
jedimario 02-24-2008, 01:07 AM Chase cars. Alot more limited than T-hunts.
scgt1 02-24-2008, 01:17 AM so more rare then hotwheels treasure hunts? It doesn't matter to me if they are rare or not personnaly. I'm just after the f-bodys new old doesn't matter who makes it or what size. My girlfriend and I are avid collectors of camaros, firebirds, and transams we spent half the day today looking around at antique malls, target, and toysrus.
jedimario 02-24-2008, 01:40 AM Way more rare. Like, maybe a couple hundred of each Green Machine vs who knows how many thousands of Treasure Hunts.
STUTZ 02-24-2008, 03:44 PM Green Machines are also nicer than Treasure Hunts.

Yep, around 200 Green Machines for most newer series compared to 100,000+ regular TH's and 25,000+ Super TH's.
scgt1 02-25-2008, 12:34 AM oh so more then likely I will never see any green machines thats nice lol. So I'm sure I will never get any f-bodys unless I spend a rediculous amount for them. When I don't even collect for value just for what they are. That stinks.

I know the feeling brother. I want the Speed Channel series TransAm GTA GM but I've never seen one go for less than $100 but my limits $75:cry:
scgt1 02-25-2008, 07:00 PM You put a limit on a $4.00 car. Thats insane. i don't want to pay more then I can buy it in the store for. Unless its something old and rare and you just aren't going to find at a store anymore. Thats why I hit up antique malls. Like I said I'm a f-body collector. Not a fortune collector. I'm not after my cars for their value. I think its sad what people try to get out of others.
FastC6Vette 02-25-2008, 10:33 PM Sorry, double post.
FastC6Vette 02-25-2008, 10:34 PM People mainly pay alot more money for chase cars because of the very limited production run, along with a variety of other reasons that differ upon each collector. However, regarding Green Machines, as long as you do not want a the Trans Am in emerald green metallic, then you shouldn't have any problem finding the regular issues in the store for the retail price of $3.99. :)

However, regarding Green Machines, as long as you do not want a 1986-89 Trans Am in emerald green metallic (color of the Green Machine), then you shouldn't have any problem finding the regular issues in the store for the retail price of $3.99.
Yea well I'm looking for that one along with the red, because they are current and I collect what ever I can find f-body related.

Spohn LCA'sIs it a B4C or was it an engine from another car.Sounds sweet! I have a '91 Z28 with the L98(350tpi).
scgt1 02-29-2008, 11:27 PM No B4C cars were 5.7. They are all 5.0. You have the same motor as me though. Speed Density  with the MAP sensor instead of the MAF.
Its out of a 92 z28 so I was told anyway. It also ran 13.69 @105 in the 1/4 with the auto trans which was slipping mad and the stock LCA's so there was wheel hop like crazy also.
It hasn't been on the strip since the 6 sp which was in the car when I bought it.
Diecast Camaro Collector 03-01-2008, 09:20 PM There were most certainly 5.7l B4Cs,http://www.thirdgen.org/1991-chevy-camaro#1991_drivetrain  btw.. Here's my Z28..http://memimage.cardomain.net/member_images/12/web/612000-612999/612183_16_full.jpg

Wow I stand corrected. I was looking at camaro source the other day when my girlfriend picked up a 92 camaro rs 25th arctic white on red. I was trying to research if it could be a b4c car because it was originally owned by the arkansas pd or was it the highway patrol. Heck I don't remember right off hand. I just didn't remember reading over anything about them being in a 5.7 version.

transambill 03-02-2008, 08:55 PM I thought B4C cars had no AC?
Diecast Camaro Collector 03-02-2008, 09:04 PM I thought B4C cars had no AC?That was just a random engine picture that I found, but to answer your question... from the link for '91 B4Cs..
Midyear, the 1LE 11.86 inch front brakes and HD calipers became optional for the B4C. This package was the only way to get air conditioning and the HD front brakes. There were 592 1991 B4C Camaros built
transambill 03-02-2008, 09:11 PM Thanks for the info. I could tell that was a SD EFI TPI in a Camaro but thought most B4C cars were non AC and I dont think any were blue?
