View Full Version : Wicked Motorsports
JeffPatch29 02-21-2008, 02:04 PM Hello, my name is Jeff Patch and I am the owner of Wicked Motorsports. The first product we will be offering is a Solid Chassis conversion for the KSG Gen 2 Platform. This chassis features a new type of Carbon Fiber chassis specifically designed for Wicked Motorsports. Slight modifications have been made to the front track width, and the mounting of the Cross brace has been re-designed to allow the racer to use a symetrical t-plate in the offset position. The picture is of the prototype which has been running very successfully for the past year. You will notice an extra hole for the nerf wing, this problem has been corrected for all our production models. Coming soon is a conversion kit for the Hyperdrive Pro 3 which will revise the chassis flex characteristics and rear pod geometry slightly, with flat track carpet racing in mind. Web-site should be finished soon. Pricing is $80 plus shipping per chassis. Please leave messages here or in my pm box.

JeffPatch29 02-21-2008, 02:07 PM By the way, I would like to give props to KSG and RIP motorsports on their car designs. I did "steal" the battery tray design from the first RIP car, simply because I felt it was the best design at the time and I wasn't going to fiz something that wasn't broke, so Props to Ozzy for that. I don't want to be labeled for someone who steals ideas and doesn't give credit where credit is due, so I would once again like to thank Ozzy and Andy for their contributions to the Oval Community. The Conversion for the Pro 3 will have many more "original" ideas implemented, so stay tuned for that.
BMCALLISTER01 02-21-2008, 08:16 PM I like the 4 holes around the pivot balls allowing adjustment without removing the t-plate from the car.
JeffPatch29 02-21-2008, 08:39 PM that is another feature I took from RIP, VERY, VERY useful.
have a lipo version coming for the Gen-2??
BMCALLISTER01 02-21-2008, 09:46 PM From what I have been reading, it seems everyone is going to a solid chassis for brushless. How does it compare to the slider chassis?
JeffPatch29 02-22-2008, 07:57 AM the carbon fiber I use has less flex front to back on the chassis, and a little more lateral flex than the standard carbon fiber most chassis companies are using. Overall, as a whole, solid chassis tend to flex a little more than slider chassis, since they don't have the "backbone" of the slider tray mount running down the center of the chassis. While the car pictured works well in Brushless, it wasn't designed with brushless in mind, where the chassis needs different flex characteristics. Our new Hyperdrive conversion will change all that, since it will have been designed from the ground up with brushless in mind.
Seven 02-22-2008, 09:37 AM Jeff, you might want to re-read and edit that second sentence on the above post. :freak:
JeffPatch29 02-22-2008, 09:48 AM I would, but what I posted is exactly what my tests show, both FEA analysis and actual testing.
ToddFalkowski 02-22-2008, 10:09 AM He was talking about your spelling of "as"
JeffPatch29 02-22-2008, 10:44 AM OOPPS, MY BAD. Must have happy fingers today with the "S". Thanks Todd and Seven.

forza_27 03-10-2008, 11:49 AM I ran Jeff's solid 4 cell car at the 'Birds and I can tell you it's SWEET! I had to add 2.5 ounces to make weight, and it felt more stable and less "nervous" than it ever had as a Gen 2.
Batman 03-10-2008, 05:02 PM Jeff chassis showed up today everything looks good. Thanks
If any of you guys would like a baseline starting setup for the car just let me know. I have done all the setups on this chassis since the first prototype over a year ago. I'm sure Jeffro will back me on this...............
JeffPatch29 03-10-2008, 06:07 PM Buddy, PLEASE,PLEASE help me. I'm totally lost.
Bob

JeffPatch29 03-13-2008, 10:14 AM You the man Bud, appreciate the set-up post. That set-up should get most guys in the ball park just about anywhere.
JBCJP 03-13-2008, 10:43 AM You have a new PM Thanks Brian
Tommygun43 03-13-2008, 01:15 PM I'd like to see the Hyperdrive version you made. (solid?)
JeffPatch29 03-13-2008, 02:09 PM Hyperdrive version is still in the design phase, and it is not going to be a solid it's going to be a slider. I will post screen shots of the CAD program once the design is finished.
Butters16 03-13-2008, 02:40 PM Any plans of making solid version Hyperdrive?
JeffPatch29 03-13-2008, 03:57 PM It's seems like there is enough interest for a solid so I can go ahead and design one.
