Dr. Syn was great! Looking forward to that for sure.

And CD 4 to make the collection of Donald complete (well as complete as it will ever be I guess).

Great Stuff!

James :)

Wow! I hadn't even heard a rumor that Disney was completing Destino, so that's a surprise. And I need the collection featuring the Duck -- so far I only have Volume One.

Boy, James, how long have we been waiting for The Scarecrow to show up on DVD - 5 years? The terms "limited edition", "lithograph" and "collectible tin" all scream expensive, but it will still be nice to finally have it in the collection. Thanks for the info.

The terms "limited edition", "lithograph" and "collectible tin" all scream expensiveNot particularly; the Disney Treasures line DVDs usually run about $21-$30, depending on where you buy them, but keep in mind that each includes two discs. However, they are definitely produced in one run of a set quantity -- usually ranging between 50K and 150K -- so don't dilly-dally when they come out.

Yeah Chris, it's been almost 5 years since Disney first announced that the Scarecrow was coming to DVD. Nice to see that this set will include the original TV episodes as well as the theatrical release.
I've been waiting years for Disney to release this.

It played with THE TRIPLETS OF BELLEVILLE in 2003.

It played with THE TRIPLETS OF BELLEVILLE in 2003.Huh. Weird. Everything I ever read about it referred to it as a collaboration that was never finished. I'll be interested in seeing it, as well as a lot of the other things on that set.

I just watched the 3-show version last Halloween. Can't wait to see them clear with a nice transfer. I don't think I've ever seen the edited theatrical release.
Are "Disney Treasures" available from all retailers or is distribution limited?

That's a very good question. Wish I had the answer. Though I would suspect that the big chain stores like Wal-Mart, Best Buy and Cicuit City will probably have these in stock.
I would also think that on line places like Amazon and Deep Discount will also have it in stock.

Wal-Mart usually doesn't, in my experience (though I have seen them at Sam's Club, for some reason -- but that was several years ago). Not sure about Circuit City, but worth a shot.

I've compiled this list of classic Donald Duck cartoons that will most likely comprise the fourth set of "The Chronological Donald" with their running times.

Donald's Fire Survival Plan (1965) 11 minutes

The Litterbug (1961) 8 minutes

Donald and the Wheel (1961) 17 minutes

Donald Duck and his Companions (1960) 80 minutes

How to Have an Accident at Work (1959) 7 minutes

Donald in Mathmagic Land (1959) 27 minutes

How to Have an Accident in the Home (1956) 7 minutes

Chips Ahoy (1956) 6 minutes

Up a Tree (1955) 7 minutes

Beezy Bear (1955) 7 minutes

Bearly Asleep (1955) 8 minutes

Lake Titicaca (1955) 7 minutes

No Hunting (1955) 6 minutes

Grand Canyonscope (1954) 7 minutes

The Flying Squirrel (1954) 7 minutes

Grin and Bear It (1954) 7 minutes

Dragon Around (1954) 7 minutes

Donald's Diary (1954) 7 minutes

Spare the Rod (1954) 4-7 minutes

Canvas Back Duck (1953) 7 minutes

Working for Peanuts (1953) 7 minutes

Rugged Bear (1953) 6 minutes

The New Neighbor (1953) 7 minutes

Don's Fountain of Youth (1953) 6 minutes

Trick or Treat (1952) 8 minutes

Uncle Donald's Ants 6 minutes

Let's Stick Together 7 minutes

Donald Applecore (1952) 7 minutes

Bee on Guard (1951) 7 minutes

Out of Scale (1951) 7 minutes

Lucky Number (1951) 7 minutes

Corn Chips (1951) 7 minutes

Dude Duck (1951) 8 minutes

One of them "Donald Duck and His Companions" is a feature length compilation, but hopefully, will be included.

"Spare The Rod" (1954) has rarely been seen uncut since the 1960s, due to a racial stereotype deemed unsuitable by today's standards. Disney has shown more courage than Warner Brothers when it comes to including politically incorrect cartoons on DVD, so here's hoping Spare the Rod is included to complete the Donald Duck catalog.
