I'll definitely be there running .09, possibly 17.5 lipo, and if things really really fall together correctly I may run a .12, but with the current engine situation I've been putting off running a .12 until next year. I know I had a blast just pitting Stan's car in the 500 lapper last fall, so I may just be a fuel man again.

The engine situation is the same this year. OS .12CVX engines. But 09 is worked out and with Andy's help the exhaust for the new engine will be worked out.

You can pick up the OS .12cvs on ebay all the time.

Jody -- I am not sure on the .12's and have no clue about the .09's. I would assume the .12's will go by GASCAR rules like they did last year. You can see the GASCAR rules by visiting www.gascarnitroracing.com . McLin should chime in about the .09's.

I'm working on dotting all the "I's" on the 2008 rules but the major addition will just be the rules for the Brushless/Lipo classes.

As far as the .09's go there well be little to no changes from last season except maybe closing a few loop holes. The biggest thing to remember is NO mods what so ever to the engine. I can't put it any simpler then that.

The biggest thing I would like to see different for the .09's at the Nat's is allowing them to run HP8 fuel. I have PMed Donnie on that. The Sidewinder last year was a real problem for them.

That's awesome, to me going from HP8 to Sidewinder was like going from 110 Sunoco to 87 Enmark!

In the .09 class can you replace the bearings in the motor? I have a motor with a bad bearing. I know the motors are cheap but it would be cheaper to replace the bearing.

I second that on the HP8 for .09. Thanks Mclin for looking in to that. I'm in for .09,.12, and 17.5/lipo

Yes you can replace the bearings. I have had to replace bearings in two of my motors that I smoked last year at the nats. I guess I forgot about running after run oil in them and the bearings seized up. Its a little pain to do but can be done. I have never seen a rule saying we cant also. Just no mods

I got a new motor that had a bad bearing in it. It was the large one inside the motor case. How can you change it?

I got a new motor that had a bad bearing in it. It was the large one inside the motor case. How can you change it?

You have to heat the motor up first in a oven. Then they will come out. I have knocked them out with a punch and hammer. I have never replace just the inside bearing. Just set the block up on something and stick a small punch thru the inner bearing to the outer bearing and hit the punch til you knock the bearing out, then knock the inner bearing out with a bigger punch from the front. Be careful not to mess up the block, if you get the block hot enough it will come out pretty easy. Set the oven to about 350 and pre heat. Once heated just put the block in the oven for about 10min. It will be hot so use the wifes pan holders remove the block! Some will just slide out but some need a little help. I have been working on making a setup to pull the bearings out that need help. I hope to try it out soon. Got a couple that need to be rebuilt still. Here is a web site with some good info about nitro engine bearings. www.bocabearings.com. click on tips and click on Issue lV. Great instructions for this procedure.

 Hey Rocket, I could be able to provide a break-in service. Maybe I should just rent the nitro car for that.:woohoo:
