Please post in this thread any comments on the information we have so far. Looks like were going to have a fun summer. psycho02 02-17-2008, 03:44 PM So this is a new series sort of?? sbrady#0 02-17-2008, 04:08 PM will it be the same once or twice a month when when will it start HERSHEYSQUIRTS 02-17-2008, 05:28 PM Fish, I'm willing to help out. Let me kno if you all need it. Looking froward to the summer season. ETOWNE 02-17-2008, 10:47 PM Soumds good. Looking forward to some outdoor racing. crashmaster 02-17-2008, 11:39 PM man i need to get back into the loop psycho02 02-17-2008, 11:43 PM man i need to get back into the loop Don't you first have to be IN the loop?? crashmaster 02-17-2008, 11:45 PM very true psycho02 02-17-2008, 11:48 PM Forget the loop, I'll be back on the track this summer. crashmaster 02-17-2008, 11:49 PM yah i will be missing alot of you this summer 420 Tech R/C 02-18-2008, 09:50 AM Cool , so mars is now M.O.R.L. or M.O.R.R. I think I like M.O.R.R. better. Midwest Off Road Racing.Regardles I hope we are still running by ROAR rules what with the legalization of li-pos and the 17.5 BL for stock classes. Also I REALLY hope they put Terry Marriots track on the series for this year. those of you that havent checked it out he has a lARGE set-up going on.Think stateline/ litchfeild size track with 1/10 scale jumps. psycho02 02-18-2008, 10:11 AM When did roar legalize Li Po's?? 420 Tech R/C 02-18-2008, 10:17 AM Man check out the roar website!! li-pos are legal for all electric classes.up to 5000mah, must be hardcased, and must use a li-po charge sack!! other changes are 13.5 is now considered a 19t, NOT stock. for 2008 you can run a 13.5 or 10.5 in 19t classes.the 17.5 is considered stock for all electric classes.(WOO-HOO! Happy dance) so that means no more poopy handout motors!!!!NO 13 mm tuning rotors though.I think that makes the hot stock set-up a 17.5/ orion 4800 platinum, or 3200 carbon edition. psycho02 02-18-2008, 10:20 AM :woohoo:Yeah I just went and read that. I am just surprised that roar moved that fast on anything. Roy Dallier 02-18-2008, 10:28 AM Forget the loop, I'll be back on the track this summer. You’ve said that for the past couple of years .You need to get back in loop. Roar has been working li-pos for some time making them legal. psycho02 02-18-2008, 10:33 AM You’ve said that for the past couple of years .You need to get back in loop. Roar has been working li-pos for some time making them legal. Yeah but this time I actually bought some gear. New truck should be here today or tomorrow and I already have a buggy. I knew roar had been looking at them but when I checked the roar website about 10 days ago they only had 4600 NMHI as legal. So the pdf that is on the site about Lipo is less than 10 days old. Glad they got it on there though as I am shopping batteries now and that should make the decision a whole lot easier. 420 Tech R/C 02-18-2008, 10:49 AM Yeah I didnt expect them to move that fast so I already bought some NiMh cells, so my son and I will run those for this year, and make the change next year.We alredy have a couple good 17.5's from running 1/12 over the winter so we are pretty much set for the innaugural season of M.O.R.R. . psycho02 02-18-2008, 10:58 AM So then hopefully someone gets on with making a good hard case saddle Lipo pack for wheelers. 420 Tech R/C 02-18-2008, 11:03 AM I am sure they will now that some guidelines are in place. I know maxamps has been killing with their b-44 saddles, so I think its time for them to set the pace for hard cased saddles...if they know whats good for business. psycho02 02-18-2008, 11:20 AM It would be good too if they could make the batteries heavier, right now all the cars we have and the setups for them are for the weight of Nihm and Ni cad cells. 420 Tech R/C 02-18-2008, 11:54 AM yeh, just going to have to add weight to them for now. 1armed1 02-18-2008, 12:05 PM So then hopefully someone gets on with making a good hard case saddle Lipo pack for wheelers. Trakpower is making hard case saddle packs, they should be available through tower in a few weeks. Dayton psycho02 02-18-2008, 12:08 PM Trakpower is making hard case saddle packs, they should be available through tower in a few weeks. Dayton sweeeeeet. 420 Tech R/C 02-18-2008, 12:12 PM well hope fully they get them to roar for approval ASAP! because as of right now there are only 4 lipos on the approval list. convikt 02-18-2008, 12:17 PM :woohoo:Yeah I just went and read that. I am just surprised that roar moved that fast on anything. they really didnt move fast, The new prez just took the initive to get it done by the deadline, which wasnt to far after she got elected Racers have been pushing for this for a couple of years Mason 02-20-2008, 10:29 PM can't wait to see the schedule. hopefully i can fit a trip up there in this year! FishRC 02-20-2008, 11:03 PM Mason, Would be great to see you back up for another run. Your lucky you are in FL... up here we just broke the record in west michigan for the snowiest Feb. on record. 36+" twistedone 02-20-2008, 11:11 PM is there going to be a race between the ftms series and mars series this winter it is posted on rc extreme as saying east vs west and M.O.R.L(or was this the old name for mars) is the new name for MARS?????? whats up with that? 420 Tech R/C 02-20-2008, 11:54 PM morl is the new name. mars was the previous. twistedone 02-21-2008, 12:01 AM thanks that answers alot for me Stateline R/C 02-21-2008, 09:24 PM the guy that was in charge is out and he took the series name with him. convikt 02-21-2008, 09:29 PM the guy that was in charge is out and he took the series name with him. thats a shame 420 Tech R/C 02-21-2008, 09:34 PM That's ok. we will still be racin' in 08' with or with out him, so a name means squat. Stateline R/C 02-21-2008, 10:34 PM thats a shame it is? :woohoo: LOSI_Duck 02-21-2008, 10:46 PM man i need to get back into the loop Hey Crash I saw you trying to do the oval, you didn't that well either:wave: West Bound and Down!!!! Get back on the track I need a good laugh:woohoo: ETOWNE 02-21-2008, 11:22 PM I'm with DUCK. 420 Tech R/C 02-22-2008, 01:06 AM hey eric, are you going to come run some 1/12 with us at the trophy race at hobby sports on 3-16??? psycho02 02-22-2008, 01:44 AM the guy that was in charge is out and he took the series name with him. Sounds like Bruce. Fred Knapp 02-22-2008, 01:05 PM morl is the new name. mars was the previous. Not that it matters much but MORL has been/is being used. http://onroadracing.com/morl/ 420 Tech R/C 02-22-2008, 01:30 PM Yeah I know fred, I am not really sure if thats the official abbreviation for it.I would prefer M.O.R.R.(Michigan Off Road Racing)Since Nick Terwilliger is involved in both I guess we will find out. Fred Knapp 02-22-2008, 01:42 PM Yeah I know fred, I am not really sure if thats the official abbreviation for it.I would prefer M.O.R.R.(Michigan Off Road Racing)Since Nick Terwilliger is involved in both I guess we will find out. Yeah, Nick would be the one that should know. I'm with you, M.O.R.R does have a nice ring to it! 420 Tech R/C 02-22-2008, 02:00 PM Yeah morl sounds like an anogram for some religous organization. NTwigs 02-22-2008, 06:58 PM Yeah, Rich Chang and I are in legal discussions for the Anogram. LOL. And for you old schoolers we were thinking about M.A.R.T. Ok guys, here are some of the basics... #1 No more handouts. 17.5 brushless is legal in stock. #2 Li-po's are legal w/ hard case. #3 No more ROAR membership required. #4 New Novice class. More info to come. S. Jerusalem 02-23-2008, 12:11 AM #3 No more ROAR membership required. Lovin' it already. 420 Tech R/C 02-23-2008, 12:47 AM #1 + #3 = Happy Dance!!! AHORNE 02-23-2008, 12:58 AM Yeah, Nick would be the one that should know. I'm with you, M.O.R.R does have a nice ring to it! the m.o.r.r. club was an oldschool carpet track on the east side, don't know if they are still around or not though. convikt 02-23-2008, 03:31 AM it is? :woohoo: let me introduce you to sarcasam 420 Tech R/C 02-23-2008, 10:57 AM any way, lets talk important stuff. I wonder if there is going to be more than 3 tracks on the series. I am sure there will be litchfeild, M-40, and stateline. And hopefully Terry marriots track in concord gets added to the list. Wish I had some pics to post for you guys. It is at his house, but it is a large track, and he has plenty of room for you guys that like to camp over. I am sure that any obtacles can be over come by the time a race could be scheduled there. There are no lights there as of yet, but I would be willing to drop 50.00 on a few 500 watt quartz lights for him, which given the cheapness of quartz lights today(7.99 @ menards) is enough for 6 of them. Re-rack-em 02-23-2008, 11:11 AM Sounds like great news so far !! Question on Novice class..... is 17.5 / lipo still good for this class and can you also run stk truck for a second class ? 420 Tech R/C 02-23-2008, 11:25 AM Good question.I bet novice will be 27t stock. Most places that run a novice class set it up for the beginners, so they really dont want any more power than necesarry in the cars. but hey I could be wrong. vBulletin® v3.8.7, Copyright ©2000-2012, vBulletin Solutions, Inc.
