I got one of these and freed it, it is nice except that the front axle has about 1/8" of play side to side, almost like the wheels are too thin. The axle is not too long as the wheels sit right in the body, but they move side to side in an almost cartoonish manner, anyone else seen this or do I have a defect?

Nope, they're all like that. :(

They sure do look good when the wheel's in the right place though.

thanks!, wow that sucks, I actually am disappointed that they would have made it that way. I will be rethinking my GL purchases...

Just noticed they did the same freakin thing with the Pink's Roadrunner... what a bummer...

I guess it's staying in the package... will look stupid loose.

Reason is the chassis is made to accept those giant, over-sized 4x4 looking front tires that are on the other versions. When they got realistic, with the big slicks in the back and realistic skinnier tires in the front, guess they couldn't figure out that they need some kind of spacers or inside extensions so the wheels wouldn't slide back and forth looking like some little kid's wagon...

 nice attention to detail

Yeah it actually does look pretty crappy.:(
My son can't even play with it because it can't even roll straight.:freak:

My reason for choosing to purchase Greenlight and also join their Under the Hood Club was because they were what I feel is for the adult collector who mainly keeps them in blister, so they do not function well on the track! I have run across the same issue with Racing Champions. I have 5 children and trust me we all know what would happen if my 5 year son would get his hands on my Green Machine Olds Cutlass.......I would sell it on Ebay for about .25 cents maybe!

Lots of us adult collectors like to rip the things out of the package, ya know.

I never keep them packed up. They always get opened. If my son wants to play with them I just make sure that there are no hammers around!:)
Why have it if it is gonna stay in the blister? Might as well only have a picture of one instead.;)
I don't collect to sell so I see no reason to keep them in the package. If I ever fing a green machine in the wild then it alone would probably remain in the package until I found a double then it would be opened and running on the track with the rest of the cars.

.........I don't collect to sell .................

Ditto. Cars FEEL good. But, it's all part of the mix that makes everything work. Whatever brings sanity back at the end of the day/week is good therapy.
