davepull 02-12-2008, 08:25 PM Hey Mike why komodo's for the 19t classes? I thought oval was stand up/ adjustable timing?
what is the size of the track?
RCThunder 02-13-2008, 02:17 PM Track is about 170... pretty big.
19T actually will be bring-your-own Ultrabird (not Komodo).
Had quite a few emails about the schedule. Wednesday is just for pit setups. There is no practice on Wednesday. Thursday will be the 1st day of practice. We also are starting heats later on Friday so that guys and girls showing up last Thursday or Friday will be able to practice. 2 heats on Friday / 2 heats on Saturday / mains on Sunday.
John Tag 02-13-2008, 09:59 PM We all know Jody Miller will finish second in stock..Question is whos gona win..LOL
Hey Jody...LOL
davepull 02-13-2008, 10:25 PM well it definately wont be Jody
this in the national guidelines
8.7. Any Stock National Champion may not compete in any ROAR stock National class for the next
5 years. Vehicle discipline specific. For example, off road stock national champ may participate
in on road stock nationals the next year.
and this is in the rule book
12.2.9 Any Stock National Champion may not compete in any ROAR stock National class for the
next 5 years. Vehicle discipline specific. For example, off road stock national champ may
participate in on road stock nationals the next year.
davepull 02-13-2008, 10:57 PM mike for 10.5 it states that we can run any roar approved 10.5 i checked the roar site and can't find a list of approved motors?
also there is no speed control rule right?
killerkoncepts 02-13-2008, 11:41 PM Dont worry i can run this year but if i win i cant next year...Stupid rule if you ask me.. i run stock because i only get to run once a month..and if i want to be competitive in 10.5 or mod i need to run almost every weekend..
davepull 02-13-2008, 11:43 PM that sucks Jody you'd like Minnreg. yah that is a new rule and kind of strange.
killerkoncepts 02-14-2008, 12:01 AM dont worry dave ..plan on running stock and 13.5 at minnreg!
davepull 02-14-2008, 12:13 AM cool focker should be alot of fun
RCThunder 02-14-2008, 01:23 AM It is going to be awesome!
Plus we added a 'fun' class which is gaining in popularity down south - LIPO3200 and 21.5.
Already a ton of emails so really excited.
Working on a pig roast Saturday night. But after the last few weeks thinking about a 'KATF1SH' roast. ALL in ALL it is going to be great racing. Brushed and brushless with 12th scale too! SWEEEEET!
davepull 02-14-2008, 08:56 AM mike for 10.5 it states that we can run any roar approved 10.5 i checked the roar site and can't find a list of approved motors?
also there is no speed control rule right?
well????
John Tag 02-14-2008, 09:02 AM ROAR is still working on there approval list. There currently doing the 17.5 and 13.5 at the monent with 10.5 next in line with the uopcoming On Road Nats just a few weeks away. Should be soon.
Mullins21 02-14-2008, 10:52 AM what motor with brushless 12th scale?
Echeconnee 02-14-2008, 11:15 AM probably the 13.5
RCThunder 02-14-2008, 12:25 PM According to ROAR - there is no speed control rules and any 10.5 that is on their approved list (I think at least a couple weeks before the event they need to be approved). 12th scale and 10th scale 19T will be bring-your-own Ultrabird. We will have some at race if needed. Stock is bring-your-own CO27 and we will have some of those also. The 13.5 class is Novak motors only. Modified is brushed and brushless allowed. We also have a special class that is 21.5 and 3200 LIPO for the Carpet Nats.
I am not an expert with ROAR... but am learning. So far they have worked with me tremendously and we are looking forward to the event.

RCThunder 02-14-2008, 01:41 PM Just want to note again the schedule is being worked to allow practice Friday morning for anyone coming in late. This should really help we hope. Rooms are cheap around town which is awesome. Plus there are a million places to eat by Minnreg (all the favorites and more).

Arnie Fie 03-04-2008, 10:35 AM RTB: What is rule on rotor sizes thru the classes? I would assume mod is wide open, but where does it fall in the 10.5 brushless class?
-Is it the rotor size approved with the motor only?
-Any part numbered rotor offered for that motor by its manufacturer?
-Any rotor that fits between 12-15.5 mm?

Arnie ....... good question. I'll have to do a little investigation for an answer in mod. ROAR considers a 10.5 BL motor a mod motor. In 13.5 or 17.5 it would be 12.5 mm max per the new Stock and Super Stock brushless motor rules.
Danny B 03-04-2008, 05:46 PM From what I understand of the rules. Any approved modified BL Teardown wound with 10.5 turns(on all poles) is legal. No wire size restrictions, no rotor restrictions, no timing restrictions etc.
I think I also read somewhere that after the on-road nats, they will have a better sampling of the motors to possibly set a few more guidelines but with ROAR who knows.
It will be interesting to see it all splattered up against the wall at the On-road nationals next week.
