If Dale Sr. were still with us and driving 'His Style' how would he like and feel about these COT Cars?

RCR has a 'Tribute Car' that I found pics of on the Jayski site...

I like the cars. And all the drivers are saying that they drive like the "old" cars. Not the ones from last year, but the old school ones.

The cars not that bad. They need to get rid of the wing and go back to a spoiler and it would be better looking. I guess they could go to a full scale Buds bi-level wing!

And Dale would have raced it as hard as he raced everything else.

Dale never drove that thing! So what's the point.....Well I hope the car was done to Honor Dale, a great man and racer. Something His Fans can buy, touch and remember the Man in Black.

Being in the NASCAR collectables business I thought that I would shed a little light on the Dale Sr. "COT". It has been done as a tribute to the 10th anniversary of Dale's Daytona 500 win in 1998. If you look at the front edge of the hood it has the 1998 & 2008 Daytona 500 logos. Working in conjunction and with the permission of Richard Childress & Teresa Earnhardt Motorsports Authentics is making a limited run of Action Platinum Series Die-Cast cars to commerate the win along with a whole product line of tee shirts, mugs, decals, flags, signs, & beer coozies etc. The product line was released to the dealer base for Pre-order on Friday 2/8/2008. We expect to get the cars into our stores in approximately 4 to 6 months other products release dates will vary. Expect these to be a very hard piece to come by as the production numbers will not be huge, as such prices will likely not be inexpensive. Also it is worthy to note that that actual car has been built by RCR and will be a part of the Pre-Race festivities for the 2008 Daytona 500 this weekend. If you have any questions about the program feel free to drop me a PM and I'll try to answer them for you.

Thanks,
John Schulz

Cliff, you are correct. Ask anyone, race fan or not, young or old, male or female about that paint scheme & they can tell you whom it belonged to.:thumbsup:You could give a bathtub the same paint scheme and it would look good too!

Being the COT drives like the earlier cars, I would say Dale Sr would have liked it.
I listened to an interview on Sirius yesterday with Mark Martin. He actually gave the COT high marks after this past weekend's Daytona runs. He said its been a long while since "the Driver" could actually make a difference on a super speedway. he commented that the "Twisted Sister" cars of the 2000's felt like slot cars. If you moved out of the draft you were hung out to dry. He said with the COT you will still need drafting help to win but not to the same degree. He said it should make for an interesting 500 this weekend. he said it was cool that he would slide it around the turns taking it to the edge and it actually showed on the clock. Granted he said you cant do it every lap it would be too risky but if you needed that extra like he did last year at the finish with the COT you might be able to pull something off last second.

Never have been real crazy about the cot but from what I have seen and my opinion is they seem to be pretty racy and much more forgiving then the other cars. Looks ways they kind of remind me of when the Lumina first came out. What the heck put a no on them with a paint scheme and at 180 mph they still look like a race car. I think senior would like them because they seem like a drivers car
