I put alligator clips on my turbo 35 with out a problem, then in the last week while cycling batteries the clips got hot enuff to melt the plastic clip covers. one battery was a older 3300, charged at 6 amps and discharged at 30 amps.then today i was discharging a spec pack at 15 amps and the positive clip melted the plastic. problem? or junk alligator clips?

Assuming that the aligator clips were soldered onto the wires (no crimped connection), then YES, I'd say the clips must be a little "cheap" -- probably made with either metal that is too thin or with poor quality metal that has a high resistance...?

Just a guess, but that's my humble opinion...
