Any ideas on how to get them apart?? I sanded the tabs that they melted on the bottom and thought it would just come apart...NOT!!! It appears that they are glued all the way around. Is there someting I can soak them in, without melting the plastic, to dissolve the glue. I have already broken one and really don't wanna ruin any more.

I had a trailer that became loose at the door end. I used an Exacto knife to cut where the walls meet the floor on the inside and the outside. This takes alot of time and patience. I did accidentally cut through two of the orange posts that join the orange floor to the silver side walls. Might not be as difficult if your not looking to preserve the tabs.

Win,,
I pulled out my trailer.. one door had busted hinge pins,,now they both do...
I cut the melted pins on the bottom and tried to separate mine ,,didn't happen either,, Mine has glue on the vertical tabs inside.. Not knowing what glue it is and what would release it without wrecking the plastic, I have no answer to debond it, not sure if trying to work tabs on the inside would work either, long thin blade screwdriver.... ??
I painted one years ago... 2 toned it..I taped off the sides etc..
Sorry I have no good answer on this one..

A took a look at a trailer a while back. Unfortunately the glue bond is sufficient to create a "weld" between the base and lid of the trailer. The tabs and notches are well out on the thin edge where ya have to tippy toe with any tool be it a blade or power blade (dremel).

No doubt it could be done but I'm fairly certain that it's one of those situations where you kill the bottom to save the top or viceversa. While it is possible to debond with solvent type cements, the layout of the tabs and their proximity to the ragged edge; not to mention the mechanical improbability of getting solvent behind the tabs deep in the trailer, would be problematic.

CJ is probably correct with the idea that it is a dig and pick situation. I'll add that more than likely you'll have to kill one piece or the other to seperate the unit.

If you have a junk one you could try and freeze it and see if the contraction of the plastics will loosen the glue seam. It also might make the glue more brittle. ?
