Though this is from the upgrade thread. I thought it would be better to move it to another thread instead of clogging that one with something unrelated.
I understand.... I still use Win2K on one of my computers.... most stable Windows version to date. But again I have to watch on that computer what I run as many newer program won't run on it. Glad we found a solution for you.
Does Win2k have the newer file stucture?
I've thought of upgrading to XP Pro as I would really like to be able to use larger hard drives (one of the few limitations of Win98 that agrivates me).
But there are a few things I just can't stand about XP. Like not being able to access any other profile while being within any profile. (or whatever they are called in XP)
Like if I am troubleshooting something in my daughter's profile, and I need a tool or link that is in my profile, I can just get it through windows explorer.
I know from experience on trying to fix my mother's computer that XP won't allow things like that. You can't use explorere to see what people have on their desktop, in their start menu, in their favorites folder, etc. Which is a major pain, and makes a lot of things way too cumbersome for my tastes.
