I'm sure many of you has their own way of adding trees to their layout. This one might work for you also. If you use the pink or blue foam board, ceiling tiles, or regular foam for your hillsides, you can take a straight pin, cut in half, get it red hot, then stick into the base of your tree. Now you can adjust your trees for that perfect setting. If you don't like the location, just move it, no harm done. Cutting the round glob base off, makes the tree look a little better in my opinion. Just an idea... RM

I like that. I did something similar with mine but I drilled a hole in the bottom of the trees and I inserted a toothpick that I broke off to length. I then drilled a hole in the tabletop to accomodate the toothpick.

For a little variety, one can also model roots from those round tree base clods with some quick blade work, touch up paint and some flock for blending.

You can still use the "thermally injected" pin trick.

I still like yer magnet trick for lamps the best Randy...it no doubt would work GREAT for those big specimen trees as well.
